Re: Does anyone use a water flosser?

I use a waterflosser. I still use floss though. But I find the waterfloss gets out some nasty little bits that normal floss and brushing doesn't. My dentist said that my gum health has improved since I started using it too. I would highly recommend a Pan*^*nic one. My battery life lasts for ages - o...

Re: TMJ with a month to go

Don't let him fob you off. You must get to the bottom of what is causing it. It could just be that you are grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw in your sleep. But you must find out - do you want to live with it indefinitely? TMJ is awful and needs to be helped. It's easy for me to say that - ge...

Re: Are you SERIOUS??!!!

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself at all - like everyone else says - it happens, and if it doesn't happen to someone, then they are lucky :) I'm always phoning my orthodontist up with problems. I've had loose molar bands a few times, I've had a palatal expander that sheared off (very dangerous), ...

Re: Few questions. Is it normal?

Hi, I've have loads of teeth extracted. I had supernumerary teeth (more adult teeth than is normal). The last teeth I had removed were all four wisdoms. I vaguely remember a similar type pain to what you describe. And I have that food around the molar thing too! Note for anyone else on extractions: ...

Braces on Short Rooted Teeth

Hi everyone. So my question is: has anyone out they're got any experience of or opinions on having braces fitted on teeth that have bad root resorption (external root resorption) I.e root damage from force of trauma? Let me explain. I have a very large underbite. I had orthodontics on my upper set a...

Re: Why did you decide to get surgery?

This is a very good question. I bet there are loads of people struggling with making similar decisions. I thought I'd put forward my views incase it helps :) I have a very large underbite, my parents refused the surgery when I was 15 but now at 28 these are my reasons for having a double-jaw surgery...

Re: Surgery and contraceptive pill

Thanks for your replies :) @slb1982 I was hoping to hear something like that! My partner currently lives on the other side if the world. He will be back for my surgery - I was hoping to be able to keep taking it (mainly for the few days he is here before the surgery! I'm not sure I'll feel like 'bei...

Surgery and contraceptive pill

Hi everyone, I'm following a few videos on Youtube about people having jaw surgery. I watched one yesterday where the woman says she hasn't been able to take her pill and well, we all know what happens if you skip a few days in the middle of a strip - total body clock mess-up that can take months to...

Surgery time?

How long does a double jaw surgery with genioplasty, for underbite correction, take?

I've read some people say 4 hours and others say 9 or 10! Which is a more realistic amount?

And how long should I expect to be in hospital for?

Thanks, Corrinne
