Whoa!

I came across this tonight while searching the web for something else. I had wondered about Smile Direct Club, but I didn't expect to see so many bad reviews! Now I understand why the AAO came out with a statement against mail-order companies like this! https://www.bbb.org/us/tn/nashville/profile/co...

I do mind. Don't do it this way. It's considered spamming and will get you banned. Instead, browse the forum and reply to a few topics with some constructive comments until you reach enough posts to be a registered member. And that number isn't 7. It's totally random.

Re: Tooth super sensitive to cold suddenly

Try brushing with Sensodyne toothpaste for a few weeks and see if it helps!

If this continues after another month or two, see your dentist for an x-ray of that specific tooth. You could have developed a hairline fracture.

There's also a "waterpik" that attaches to your sink or shower:

Re: Best way to clean a clear retainer - hints and tips please!

Brushing a retainer isn't really a good way to go. Besides the scratches being an aesthetic problem, the scratches will harbor more bacteria as time goes on. You have to think about how you are tackling plaque buildup and bacterial buildup. There are many products out there for cleaning retainers. D...

Re: Relapse and Retainers

You either need to get back into a Hawley retainer or get a permanent retainer put behind your 6 front teeth.

You should go back to your orthodontist to discuss your options.

Re: Can a retainer fix a posterior open bite?

I'm not a dentist either, but from my own experience, I think you should see how much progress you make with the elastics. I had an anterior open bite (did not have surgery) and the elastics really made a huge difference in closing the bite.

Re: Will elastics work for an adult with overbite?

Elastics definitely work for anybody in braces at any age, depending on your individual case and the reason why they are used. What doesn't work for older people: palate expanders. Once you are above age 19 or 20ish, your palate is totally fused. After that age, you would need SARPE surgery to re-op...

Re: Recommendations for cleaning products & routine

If you brush clear aligners or retainers, you will be putting microscopic scratches in them which will make them prone to harbor more bacteria, and could cloud them up eventually. It's best not to brush those type of retainers or aligners. Also, toothpaste is abrasive and does not kill bacteria whic...

Re: Not been wearing elastics as instructed

By not wearing the elastics as your orthodontist instructed, you have only cheated yourself. But don't beat yourself up about it too much. It's very common for people to wear the elastics less than directed. You should NOT wear them more hours than instructed unless you call your orthodontist and ge...

Re: Retainer/Aligner cleaner that also whitens teeth - what do you think?

It's a foaming product that you put inside your clear retainer/aligner. You keep it in your mouth. It whitens your teeth gradually while killing the bacteria on your retainer with hydrogen peroxide.
