Re: New OrthoDots are Now at DentaKit.com - Better Than Wax or Silicone

Yeah, it's a really neat product! They went through a few changes with it -- this is the newest generation and this is the one that they're sticking with. No pun intended!

OraChill: A Drug-Free Way To Stop Tooth Pain & the Pain of Braces

When your teeth hurt, it's impossible to concentrate (and even more difficult to eat)! When you're in braces, Tylenol can become your best friend. But did you know that there's a new drug-free way to treat tooth pain? It's called OraChill, and it's made right here in the USA. OraChill (formerly GumE...

Do Not Buy a Used Acceledent on eBay! Here's Why....

Some eBay sellers are offering used Acceledents. While this may seem like a bargain, it's a very bad idea. Here's why: First there is the hygiene factor. Do you really want to use a mouthpiece that has been in someone else's mouth? Yuck! Secondly, the Acceledent appliance is programmed to stop worki...

What to do if you lost your retainer (how to keep your teeth from shifting)

"I lost my retainer! How do I keep my teeth straight?" First of all, don't panic! Contact your dentist or orthodontist and make an appointment to get a new retainer made. If you have been wearing your retainer consistently and your orthodontist still has the molds, impressions, or electronic measure...

Re: Advice on how to tell if you brushed well with braces?

You can get some plaque disclosing tablets (or drops), or use the new Plaque HD toothpaste. Any one of these will help you to see where you're not brushing well. The disclosing tablets and drops might temporarily stain your o-rings, but the Plaque HD toothpaste won't. https://www.dentakit.com/pldita...

Re: My Nickel Allergy to share with you ...

Thanks for sharing your story. Nickel allergy isn't as rare as you might think -- and neither is latex allergy. I hope that you feel better and that you can find a way to continue your orthodontic treatment. There are many hypoallergenic materials out there, so communicate with your orthodontist. Be...

Re: Retainers Causing Sore Throat

Please search this message board and you will see a long thread about this. You need to tell your orthodontist or dentist. Align Technologies, the makers of Invisalign, know about this and apparently offer a "hypoallergenic version" of the product.

Re: Requisite CPAP Trial (Fep Blue)

I don't know if you could skip the titration. They need some sort of baseline for your AHI and your pressure setting. Also, they need to know whether you have central apnea. It's a lot more complicated than you might think. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll be sure to check them out. Today I call...

Re: Requisite CPAP Trial (Fep Blue)

I have been using a CPAP (actually, now it's an APAP) for about 7 years. The first month is the hardest to adjust to it. Now I sometimes wake up forgetting that I even have it on. I have a smaller one that I travel with. I wouldn't be without it! There's a forum on cpap.com that is excellent, if you...
