Re: On My way!!

Hey Anngie, hope you're bearing up ok. Just read your story so far. Not getting braced till next week, but had 2 premolars out on 1st Feb and I know I felt yuk all day so I feel for you. Right at the moment I hate the waiting, but want to get on with it at the same time! I think one day at a time se...

Re: Whitening teeth with braces

Hi there. I'm not going to get braced for another week but I know how you feel about the stain thing. I think in the UK it's not that common for people except celebs to whiten teeth. I've certainly never considered it in the past, but then why would I have wanted to draw attention to white but crook...

Re: Fear

I understand this fear, and I haven't even got my braces on yet! My 2 front incisors largeish. They cross so look smaller than they are, in my mind, so I'm nervous they'll look too big when it's done. It really is a time to trust your ortho!

Re: what kind of toothpaste do you use?

Colgate seems to be popular so far, which is good as I've got loads in a drawer!

Re: Quick question

The main thing I'm going to miss is crusty bread - I bake (in machine) every day for the family. I love crusty bread! Actually, I would love it but for making my jaw crunch so maybe it won't be so bad cutting the crusts off while in braces. I can still dunk them in soup!

Re: 15 days and counting

12 days to go. I've just realised that the 2nd night after braced we have been asked to babysit for friends (well my husband can go, I won't want to cope with other people's childrens' comments on day 2) and the day after my husband is away for work. Shame, because I wanted to do as much talking as ...

Re: Newbie 35 year old Mom

Hi BetsyBug. I think you sound like me - when I try & bite I have to slide my jaw back, so TMJs permenantly tender. I know my ortho is planning to get my lower teeth forward first while just holding the uppers with a removable, then sort the uppers out. Quite interested to see how it's going to work...

Re: 15 days and counting

Thanks for the reply, now I don't feel alone! Extractions weren't too bad, just feel a bit vampire-ish now because the teeth in front feel like they're bigger.
Just hate the wait now. I assume it's normal to become moderately obsessed with looking at everyone's teeth?

15 days and counting

Not sure what I've let myself in for. I'm 42, due to have braces in just over 2 weeks. I've already had 2 teeth out so I guess I'm past the point of no return. I go in for more impressions to be taken next week, as I'm having removable upper to start, with metal lowers, and then later on I'll have c...
