Re: Getting Braces At The Age of 54!

Dee, pls hang in there. What you are experiencing is normal. It will pass....just give it some time. I had this issue at some point also, though it didn't last a long time. Another issue I use to have was my top teeth at the front feeling like they were colliding with my bottom teeth. As your teeth ...

Hi Jem,

Looking forward to the pics. I guess you will have them off by about February? I think that is when mine will be off too.

Re: kellyb's story (belatedly)

Thanks Dee :) I will definitely have a rum and coke in your honour :D Damn, I struggled abit with the superfloss lastnight. There were a couple of areas I just couldn't manage to get the thing through. I will not give up though. Hope I have better luck tonight. The stiff bit does lose it's stiffness...

Re: How often do you brush?

I was never a big snacker to begin with but if on the odd occasion i fancy a snack, i have to think very long and hard before having it. These days I only snack when I am at home and can brush at my leisure. I am still not keen on using public bathroom for brushing though I will do it if I have to.

Re: How often do you brush?

I got braces on Thursday evening and at the end of the appointment, my ortho described what she thinks is an ideal routine: get up - brush to removed all plaque built up during the night eat breakfast - brush, use the small brushes under the wire and around each bracket, floss, rinse with a fluorid...

Re: Closing a large diastema

powerchains are great :D , you will love them :D You will probably be tender for a couple of days after they are fitted but that is like what you would get with any adjustment. I have had powerchains since my first adjustment so I got use to them pretty quickly. Also the progress made since they wen...

Re: kellyb's story (belatedly)

Hi Dee, Not sure what is causing the inflammation. I am doing everything possible i.e. brushing properly, flossing etc but it still is inflamed a little bit. It does not hurt or anything which is a good sign. It only looks swollen. The lowers were slightly swollen as well throughout the treatment bu...

Re: Jem's belated story

Hi Jem :D

As I'm sure you know already, I thought you had beautiful teeth to begin with and I probably wouldn't have had braces if I had your lovely pearly whites :D

That being said I cannot see any difference between your 2 latest photos because to me they are both perfect :D

Re: Closing a large diastema

Hi Dee :)

Not sure what the little bar is.

With regards to your gap, I am assuming that your ortho will put a powerchain on it at your next adjustment and you are going to be surprised to see how quickly it starts shrinking :)
