On the flip side, I had absolutely no nausea after surgery. The surgeon prescribed anti-nausea meds which I got pre-op but I never needed them.

Do you have any pain? The biggest sypmtom of dry socket is intense pain due to the bone and nerves being exposed. You're probably ok if you don't have much pain but if it gets worse I'd defintely go see your dentist as soon as possible.

Same! I'm looking forward to getting debraced soon but at the same time I'm sad my visits will eventually end. People think I'm crazy when I say this but I always have a good time at the orthodontist.

Funny, I was going to post about this. I had the exact same thing happen in almost the exact same place. I'm not sure if it was the surgery or the movement of my lower teeth during the braces treatment (I had significant crowding) but I didn't notice it until about six weeks post-op. I'll be getting...

This is what I've heard, too.

I think it's normal. I had the same thing when I first got my braces on and it went away after a few weeks (as hard as it is just make sure you still do a good job brushing that tooth).

My palate is also completely numb. I get twinges and tickles every now and then but no feeling yet. My upper gums are improving, however, so I'm hoping that bodes well for the roof of my mouth. Keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us

I haven't actually started the elastics yet so I'm not sure. I've been wondering the same thing. If I bite to where my midline lines up, it sometimes feels unnatural so I'm actually looking forward to starting the elastics.

Believe me, I can relate. I was very worried after surgery that I'd look so different and that people, not understanding what jaw surgery is all about, would judge me (a woman at work started talking this way when she found out I was having the surgery ... until I explained that my front teeth didn'...

My midline was off after my elastics came off and when I mentioned it to my ortho, he said to bite however I was comfortable biting for now and that he'd correct it with elastics.
