I am currently feeling like the biggest idiot ever. I was looking through some pictures on my camera over the weekend and I found some pictures I took after my last adjustment. While looking at the pictures I realized that I have been wearing my elastics in the wrong configuration for the last 3 wee...

I got elastics at my last adjustment which was about 2 weeks ago. I don't find they hurt, I think it is just more pressure. You will get used to it after a couple of days, so in that respect it is kind of like an adjustment. I have very heavy elastics in so I find opening my mouth wide very difficul...

Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover the cost of adult orthodontics. I was able to claim the amount I paid last year on my taxes, but considering how much I paid I didn't get a lot back, but some is better than nothing.

I have had my braces for just over a year now. I got my first power chain (across top 6 teeth) about 11 months in, and I got another power chain (bottom 6 teeth) and elastics at around the year mark. I didn't have any pain with my elastics or power chains, mostly just pressure. However, my first cou...

Topic: Elastics whilst eating, and bite turbos?

I got elastics at my last adjustment this past Friday. I have to take them out when I eat because I can't open my mouth very wide which makes it very difficult to eat. I just make sure to put them back in after I eat, I probably wear them for about 20-22 hours a day. I didn't get bite turbos, so I c...

And I just thought I would mention that my bag of elastics has an elephant on it, and they are described as "Heavy" on the bag. Hopefully that means these are the strongest elastics so it won't get worse than it is now!

Thank you PrincessPeach ! I am very pleased with how everything is looking! fosterp - No, I didn't get any bite turbos. I did notice that I did have a bit of an over jet once my teeth got straightened out. I have elastics now to fix my bite so I am assuming that will fix that problem, but I'm not su...

Here is a quick update: I had an adjustment today, and a lot happened! First they replaced my top power chain, put a power chain on my bottom front teeth and then gave me elastics to wear in a triangle shape on both sides of my mouth! Very intense. I go back in just over a month for my next adjustme...

I had my braces put on after work on a Thursday, I went to work on Friday and was happy to have the weekend to get used to my new look. The pain wasn't too bad, nothing that a painkiller couldn't handle. I think you should be fine to go to work after you get your braces on, just make sure to have so...
