I had the exact same issue. I finished college and got my first real job and finally went for ortho consults which I had been wanting to do forever. I assumed I could get invisilign since my problems didn't seem very big in my opinion at the time but they all said it would only straighten my teeth b...

Im assuming the word monkey is the size elastic they would use. Many orthos use elastics that differentiate between sizes by naming each kind a different animal name. I think its probably for kids so they remember it easier. Monkey elastics would have a specific weight/thickness of the band and a sp...

Hey sorry to hear you are in some pain now but you know it will all be worth it! That's awesome though that you can already see a difference. Those loops should help a lot. I am going in to see my ortho tomorrow because one of my loops is sort of crooked and the tooth right there is crooked now too....

I am also in the fully computerized group. I actually walk up to a computer and sign into it with with a fingerprint scan. Then it pops up with my picture and a big Welcome sign haha. Then the ortho sees patients in one large room with about 8 chairs formed in a circle around the perimeter. Each cha...

Oh that is such god news that you got what you wanted and they are going to keep working on your bite until its right! I m sure with the added treatment time that they will be the way you want by debanding :) Really good that the other ortho was there and actually listened to you. I have one top too...

YES, haha. I had made up my mind to finally ask questions a few months ago about a bunch of issues I was having with my teeth and then he said "looks good, I can give you a debanding date at your next adjustment" and I was so excited that I forgot to ask anything and just sort of assumed that if he ...

Hi allisun, my molars feel like that too. I actually just noticed the same thing where I can fit the tip of my tongue inbetween my molars on the inside of my mouth but they look fine/closed from the outside. As long as your bite feels good I think it's fine. I don't really know what to say about x-r...

Thanks everyone! :) Only 2 weeks from tomorrow!! I'm really excited, but my right top lateral is a little crooked and it's causing the tooth to bump into my extra long lower canine. It's really uncomfortable. I asked my ortho last week and he pretty much said there was nothing he could do and that h...

I've had mine for almost 15 months and will get them off in 2 weeks :) I got them at age 23 because my two top canines were raised up about a half tooth too high and pushed out from my arch more than the rest. Also some minor crookedness in a couple other teeth.

Sorry I just reread your post and realized that the soft food you were talking about was just in case you do get spacers, not for the braces. Well I hope you don't have to get them but you can ask and if they say yes then ask if it would be possible for you to get brackets instead of molar bands and...

Wow it's coming up fast!! So you said you have your records appointment tomorrow- I assume you are also getting your braces on as well since you were talking about soft food. If you are getting the braces on tomorrow and you don't already have spacers then that's sweet bc they will probably just use...

I'm so sorry to hear what happened, but that shouldn't be a reason to get rid of your braces, IMHO... I really hope you stick with it. If anything, the final result of the braces should hopefully give you more confidence which would be a good thing I'd think. Please just give it a little time before...

Hmmm that does sound really strange. I am wearing elastics and they pull my jaws together really tight so it's basically like involuntary clenching and yes my teeth get pretty sensitive from the clenching as well. My jaw muscles get sore from trying to pull against the elastics to keep my teeth apar...
