Hi - I never had them either and I also got curious about the same thing. I did a post on it a little while ago and a bunch of people answered. You can look at it here:

I had the same problem, it was my upper right lateral tooth. It wasn't very far behind the bottoms, just barely so I didnt think it would be much of a problem. It actually didn't even start out that way, it just got that way somehow during treatment. My ortho didn't bring it forward til just very re...

Well I went in yesterday and had my ortho do a few adjustments because the slant was still not going away. I have a gray powerchain on top now so it's harder to see the archwire but here are the progression pics again from the past month: April 27: http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt98/AndromedasH...

I imagine it is the same as teeth without fillings or crowns. I had teeth extracted in the back and when the molars moved forward, they just matched em up with different teeth in the bite. They will still fit together. By the way, I had my first molar on the bottom (both sides) removed when I was 11...

Re: How often are your adjustements?

She managed to convince her ortho to do adjustements every 2 weeks and within 13 months she was totally done and her teeth are perfect. So Im thinking I want to do something similar. But how realistic is it to ask for adjustements so close together? Any of you with similar case? Or just how often d...

Awww Ken! Sorry  ! Everyone's day comes, just at different times. I've been jealous of other people's teeth, progress, and finally naked teeth so many times. And then of course having my debanding date pushed back was no fun either, but I know I am still one of the lucky ones. I've never had b...

Well there's still a little time before your debanding so hopefully your ortho will have an idea when you see him tomorrow. Some things can be fixed really quickly. Sometimes my teeth have moved super fast, especially when I got a powerchain or elastics or any other type of major adjustment. Good lu...

So I went to the ortho today about the top lateral that was hitting my lower canine and HE FIXED IT! Yay :) He said that to me it probably feels like it was really hitting against there but really it was just barely touching. He kept putting that carbon paper in my mouth and telling me to bite so he...

I think it depends on what they want to do and how long they think it will take your teeth to get there. Maybe they make an adjustment for one tooth and they think "oh this will take a while" so they give it about 6 weeks. Then maybe they need to get something else in line but only a smaller movemen...

I don't know if having different orthos was the problem or not, but the same thing happened to me and I just have one ortho. My ortho originally said I'd be debanded the first week of April as an estimate. Then we were getting closer to April this year and he kept saying for the few months beforehan...

Hi allisun - thanks for the well wishes and the nice compliments :) I hope my ortho can do something about my lateral as well; I can't stand it bumping into my lower tooth and it's throwing my whole bite off, just ONE little tooth.... ugh, haha. I know what you mean about the bonding on the laterals...

Thanks for your input stevon! I am in the same situation as you were originally - my ortho prefers and recommends Essix. I'm pretty against the bonded unless it was deemed absolutely necessary and my ortho said he wasn't going to give me that anyway, so phew! I was concerned about if the Essix would...

Haha I think they do make flavored ones! I've read about them but I can't imagine they keep their flavor for very long. Probably like a stick of chewing gum.
