Re: Been in braces about 6 weeks and feeling very discourage
Any time an ortho gives a timeline, its just an estimate. Your teeth may not move as quick as he anticipated and it could take longer. There is a dentist that posts on here who is the developer of a technique called powerprox six month braces which may be the technique your dentist is using so he ma...

Re: Did anyone get veneers after braces?
getting braces will not change the shape of your face. it will just straighten you teeth. Random. And incorrect. It depends on what the individuals issues are. I can show you before and after braces pics where you can see great facial profile changes/improvements. Back on topic. I would think when ...

Re: Braces + RPE, now I'mgetting 4 wisdom teeth removed -NER
I had to be put to sleep to have 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed years back. Recovery wasn't bad from what I remember. I don't think having braces in would make recovery any different.

Re: Overjet "camouflage"?
It depends on the individual situation. But some people can have their overjet fixed just by extraction two upper premolars and be left with a nice stable result. Sounds like I love my teeth's overjet was due to a retracted lower jaw. But lets say a persons lower jaw is in an ideal position, but the...

Re: Overjet "camouflage"?
Maybe you can have a couple of upper teeth extracted and that will allow the room to retract the overjet.

Re: Help! Really upset..Broken permanent upper retainer
Personally I would get a Hawley because it will last you much longer than essix. The advantage to permanent retainers is your compliance is guaranteed because you can't remove it. But if you are 100% compliant with wearing your removable, then it will likely do just as good a job at retaining(maybe ...

Re: Teeth whitening
Here is some happy news :yuck: ; my ortho said that I can get them whitened ONE WHOLE MONTH after debracing! According to her, the braces, no matter which ones, do cause some damage to the teeth; so you need to do a one month treatment with a toothpaste that contains a lot of fluoride, so your teet...

Re: Top Row off but question.
Wow I can't believe some people have to wait up to 4 weeks! I only had to wait about 4 hours. My dr. has a practice with 2 or 3 other orthodontists under the same roof and they have a lab on site.

Re: Think I made a Mistake...
That is what I thought. I really wanted invisalign, but beyond that, there was going to be something on my teeth. That plus my concerns about the ligs staining made me decide for metal. The ligs that go on metal brackets are the same thing and will stain as well, but the staining is harder to see u...

Re: Gums swelling?
Just make sure you do a good job flossing in between all teeth everyday. Food lodged in the gums will cause them to swell. Actually for myself I had what turned out to be an eyelash buried right in between my gums that was causing me issues for weeks before I finally got it out. Once it came out the...
