How important are waterpicks? My ortho said they don't encourage their patients to get them. Are they expensive? Did you ask them why? They said that a lot of people substitute their waterpik for flossing, and they believe flossing is more effective... but I just bought one yesterday anyways :D And...

Yes I def have HUGE gaps to close. I had over-retained baby canines and the adult ones are in the palate of my mouth  They pulled the babies and then instead of putting brackets on the adult canines they put...eh I told myself to remember the name when he said it but I FORGOT. Something other...

Glad to see someone shares my concern. I was always completely fine with the way my bottom teeth look so when they told me I needed them braced I was a bit iffy about it, especially since I needed them braced at the same time as my uppers, which are severely worse off. My bottoms are straight but th...

Sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. My dad was suppose to pay for my braces too but after waiting 2 years , I was your age when I began the "waiting", I decided to get a part time job and pay for them myself. If you have had them on for a while then I am sure most of the payments have b...

Day 3 and ouch!

So I bit the bullet and went ahead and got my Damon 3's. Yeah, they're pretty visible but I decided that if I kept trying to make my mind up I would loose precious "teeth-fixing" time. My Question is, after reading many posts, I feel like I am in a lot more pain than the average person was. I litera...

Thank you for all the replies. I think its the fact that I am naturally indecisive so figuring things out of this nature are particularly difficult for me. I think I might bite the bullet and get the damon 3's and then switch to invisalign after 4 or 5 months. I know it would be 2000 more to do that...

So Confused

Ugh, someone please tell me to stop feeling sorry for myself. I am stuck in a rut I cannot get out of. I am about to sign a contract with an Ortho I am unsure of. He is "best of the best" in the city I am in but they don't have ceramics which I want. They use the damon system. And from some pictures...

My problem is that my insurance never kicked in to begin with, because of the whole waiting period ( I just got insurance a couple months ago). So I might do Damon for 6 months invisalign from there on out. I am just having money issues because I had financially planned it all out thinking I would h...

Dojo, I live in North Carolina and all the ortho's I have seen that are qualified have never actually done linguals on anyone. Plus my canines were impacted so they came in through the pallet and the last, and best, ortho I saw said I would be miserable and that it would pretty much be a torture dev...

I can definitely relate with you. I am about to turn 20 and have been saving for my braces for about 4 years now! Because I am paying for them by myself I want to get something "invisible" less noticable, I dont know I guess it would make me feel better about having to pay for them if they were not ...

Well I initially had to wait a year because I just got insurance and they said it would be a "pre-existing condition" blah blah anyways I'm going to be 20 in November and it expires when you turn 20 anyways so they just wanted my money it seems like...ekk I hate insurance. So I'm just going to pay f...

How many...

How many of you were debraced on schedule.

I cant decide if I want traditional type braces or not. My ortho says only 9 months but I hear so many stories of people having to extend their treatment many months--sometimes years! :Questions:

Damon Brackets and Invisalign Combo?

Hi everyone I was going to get Linguals but my ortho said because I have impacted teeth that came in through the pallet(sp?) I wold be miserable in linguals. He suggested that I get regular traditional damon brackets but If I am really concerned with the visibility of this then he could do the first...

my Ortho didnt want me to get linguals either, he said they are slower and harder and with an obvious higher cost... he has done them heaps before and was the only Ortho in Perth that can do them.. i eventually talked him into it. its now been nearly 3 months with them on and although I had an awfu...
