Yes that was exactly the case with me. I never thought the pain would go away at first but luckily it did, just like everyone said it would. Just because it doesn't hurt like it did in the beginning, doesn't mean they're not moving. It just means your mouth has adjusted to the pain.

I don't know from personal experience but my brother had EXTREME tooth sensitivity/pain and he used Anbesol and said it worked great. I am pretty sure you can get it at most local drugstores.
