Thanks for the advice ladies. As usual, quite helpful. I have never used hydrogen peroxide before, but we did have a bottle at home luckily. I mixed up a 50/50 with water, and boy, the taste/sensation was pretty odd. It seemed to do the trick. My gum had swelled MUCH worse than the photo, it seemed ...

Gum Swelling around Molar Band

Hi all, I have developed some swelling at the gum around one of my molar bands. It started yesterday, and has gotten quite puffy. It doesn't hurt, and I have tried flossing and my waterpick and salt rinses to no avail. My ortho put in a big bend in the wire next to this tooth, so I am wondering if i...

Hi unhappy teeth, thanks for checking in to my story.

your teeth look great, that twisted one has gotten into line pretty quickly! those linguals are really working great.

I agree with Ken, you have to change your name now to Happy Teeth!!!

Hi Jenny, isn't it funny how once the big changes are made, you start noticing all the little things that need to be fixed?! I think this must be the boring part of braces, waiting for the tiny movements to take place... I am so completely bored even at 5 months....
take care,
Patricia

At my last adjustment, I got a new stainless steel wire on the bottom as well as a fresh new powerchain...

Hi Grutty, looking good. Your braces look great.
I am also developing a BIG open bite, but it seems to have gotten a little better this month. I also have some odd little spaces that I didn't have before. (Including the obvious large extraction gap!! ha ha)

wow again! you must be very pleased!

Hi Merman, looks like the gap is a little smaller. Don't worry about not having the powerchain on, I have had one since my lower tooth was extracted, and it seems our gaps are about the same size - it doesn't look like mine is going any faster!!! I also had a Mr. Twisty (two, actually) and they seem...

nice post.

I was considering braces at 26, but it seemed NO ONE that old had braces and I was horrified at the thought. Glad I found this site at 41 - it was the one thing that made the decision easier....

my appointments are every 4 weeks. i get new ligs and a new wire each time now, and a new powerchain on the bottom front teeth to close a gap. i thought i seemed to be going very frequently in comparison to others here.

Well, thanks all.
Once again, I am not crazy.
I feel like I ask my ortho five thousand questions every time I go! I seem like the only one in there gabbing and asking questions. I guess I just love information!
