Hi there, not a weird question at all. if you do a search on 'teeth clenching' you will find more info. After a year in braces, I am not clenching my teeth anymore, but for the first 6 months or so, I found that many times a day I was clenching my teeth together - pretty brutally! This seems somewha...

No, I don't have a bad taste and it's not similar to an infection. It seems like it got irritated badly. I was eating chili-lime pistachios, and I wonder if the hot powder did something... always a mystery thanks for all the replies. I have an appt. already on Thursday so I will wait it out a few mo...

Huge Gum Swelling

Has anyone had a huge gum swelling? I have had my braces for a year, and last night at 4am I woke up and the upper gums on one side and half the roof of my mouth was swelled to about the size of a large cashew. I was pretty horrified to be honest, it was HUGE. I took an advil and woke up at 7am with...

wow, where were you all last year? I got one lower bottom tooth pulled because of severe lower crowding and I was absolutely fearful of making this decision. (my teeth looked similar to the ortho's website #9 posted in this thread) Now, 11 months later, the gap is still not closed. I was told it wou...

good luck Catfish. I haven't been on the board in a while, and I just read about your decision to remove that lower tooth. I just updated my story (can't change the title for some reason?!) and my lower incisor gap is closing fine. It was a hard choice to remove the tooth, but it all seems to be wor...

Not much new to report. It's been a while.... Ortho continuing to work on bite. See below. Bottom teeth all have to be pulled together, and then upward to fill in the gaps and to get the archwires looking parallel. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll124/BracedVeryLate/Photo215.jpg The bottom front...

hi grneydfairy,

the tech and the ortho said to use a waterpik, which i have done, and to stimulate the gums with a very soft small brush. it seems a constant effort to keep the gums on these three teeth healthy. i don't have a problem with any of the other gums, so it's odd.

Well Ken , sdawdy and IAM , I shouldn't have complained about boring braces... I have been having all kinds of trouble with my gums on the top right side. Swelling, bleeding, etc. I have been really cleaning well, so I don't know what's going on. Part of the problem I think is that the gums are almo...

UGH, i also had two bugs bunny teeth, but they appear less so now that my braces have been on almost 6 months. since the two adjacent teeth on top have come down a bit, they seem less noticeable... i think once your front teeth become all lined up, it should look fine. i think i am not incorrect in ...

I find myself clenching all the time too, and I never did this before. I think I might have posted this somewhere.... I too have found that if you place your tongue between your teeth, you will surely know immediately if you start clenching. I was clenching more on one side because my molars only hi...
