I don't know which country you are in but I did a google search for orthodontic supplies and found these: http://www.jesorthodental.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=Elastomerics or http://www.thompsonorthodontics.com/item178846.ctlg if you are in the US and this link: http://www....

WOW! What a story! Like jenny, my jaw is now hitting the floor after reading all that. Have you had every ortho appliance going in your mouth? Do you wish you had never started treatment in the first place? I only ask because looking at your pics I think I would be thinking that. Even my husband has...

I bursh in the morning and at night (good clean with toothbrush, toothpaste, interental brush and toothpick) with oraldene mouthwash if I have ulcers. I have a drink at every meal time anyway so only brush my teeth after eating if food has become stuck in my braces. You must eat! Don't stop eating j...

adultbraces...you just need to look at my blog and see that my tooth has got a dent in it and the bracket certainly hasn't come off. I initially had molar buildups on as I was biting off the lower bracket with my top incisor (the dented tooth) and then molar buildups came off at first adjustment as ...

Hi latte welcome to the board and congrats on becoming braced! I've a similar situ to you...I have lost my top front left incisor altogther now. My tooth was broken during surgery when I was a kid, then I got a crown and now I have a HORRID denture. And if that isn't bad enough, it's smaller than my...

Isn't it not something to do with the figure 8 holds the wire more securely and can give greater pressure? I don't think it's purely down to individual assistant preferance...I've only had my ortho put on my ligs (assistants don't put them on here in the UK) On brace day all my ligs were round with ...

Chipped Tooth?

Is it common for brackets to chip teeth?

Have a look at my blog (click www below)...my top incisor has this wee dent in it from where it sits on the lower bracket.

Who wants to bet the molar buildups go back on again in 2 weeks time???

I had my first ortho appliance when I was a baby and then my mum says I had a removal brace at aged 4yrs. I didn't get fixed braces til I was around 13 or so (I forget the exact age). I was born with a cleft. However that was 31 years ago I was born and i believe things ahve changed since then :) My...

Firstly I'd say try to avoid snacking on sugary foods...the reason you will be feeling hungry so often is because your blood sugar levels will be rising sharply and then crashing quickly. You need to choose your snacks wisely...go for unrefined carbs such as wholemeal bread, brown rice, pasta, oat b...

Re: Is It worth it ?

So my question is: Is ''4mm'' vertical maxillary excess correction worth going through a major surgery like lefort I? I read you rmessage earlier today and was going to say something but left it til now to actually ask...wasn't sure if I should in the first place If you didn't know how many millime...

This is the first time I have ever been braced both top and bottom. Up til now all my braces ahve been on my top arch only. But that was where I needed the work. My bottom teeth were slightly crowded but I wasn't worried about them before and with my cleft it was my top teeth that needed shifting. I...

I've only had 4 year old kids make any comment about my braces so far...both asked 'what are those things on your teeth for?' My mother inlaw has asked the most questions about how braces work, etc. My Father inlaw, when told of my treatment plan, asked the question 'but what if you don't like the e...

I was initially told 18 months then surgery. But by the time I went back with a decision, it was extended to 3 years...apparently will give a better result if I'm in braces longer
