Attachments are Invisalign's way of improving how well the system can manage certain types of movement that it would be poor at otherwise. Think for a sec about fixed braces - because they are attached to the teeth, they can apply forces in all the necessary ways - in/out (making the arch narrower/...

If all else fails go back to the clincheck

I would think most dentists would go back to the Clincheck and say "this is what you approved, and this is what it looks like"... But in the interest of their reputation, good customer service, etc, and since they are charging such an outrageous amount of money for something that requires very littl...

My attachments were put on before the first tray. I hated it, they fell off a couple times before she got them to stay! Anyway, one of them has already fallen off again, and when I saw my dentist last Monday he told me that "it's ok"... He said "those attachments are over-rated" and kind of laughed ...

I remain surprised that Tylenol wasn't enough for you - braces pain really shouldn't be so severe as to require anything stronger. I assume you take it at full strength? Hope things continue to improve for you. I always take 2 of the 500mg tylenols, so 1000mg. If I'm in real pain, I pop 3 and it ma...

Tray #2 not good yet

Well, I tried to put tray #2 in. Tomorrow at noon will be exactly 2 weeks since the first tray went in. It doesn't fit yet! The first tray fits like a glove now, it slides right in and easilly comes out (except for the fact that I trimmed my nails yesterday and have no nail to grab onto it and yank ...

Wow! I didn't think my thread was going to turn into a little catfight, but hopefully by now you guys have all calmed down as much as my head has. I'm sorry I didn't post sooner, but this has been a rough week at work... I went to the doctor on Monday, and he calmly and collectively said "Congratula...

So far not so good :(

6 days of a nonstop headache... Fatigue... Basically I come home from work and sleep. I can't take ibuprofin or any other related drugs (Asprin, Aleave, etc) because I'm alergic, so I am forced to take Tylenol and it doesn't work for this type of problem. So, today at lunch I slammed down a couple g...

Use tweezers to remove them. I have been wearing mine 8 days now. No discomfort at all. I forget that I have them in. No one has noticed them until I tell them I have them. I can already tell where they are closing a gap just after 8 days. Couldn't you risk damaging them if the tweezers punctured t...

UGH!!!!!!!! These headaches are driving me up the wall

This is a slight pain that just nags at me all day long, and by the end of the day I'm so exhausted I just want to sleep. I can't wait for it to go away, it's driving me nuts. Tylenol is the only thing i can take since I'm alergic to the others, but it doesn't work too well with keeping me from bein...

Got my aligners today!

Well, they're in!! They put the wonderful bumps on my teeth... They feel so wierd, but I know I will get used to it all. I already took them out once to eat my lunch and put them back in. They were really hard to get out, but not so difficult to get back in! I hate how when you floss you can't get t...

Well, there was a bit of computer illiteracy in my dentist office, so they couldn't figure out how to email me all the additional views. They actually made me come in to take a "look" at them, but they didn't email them to me. Basically from all the views I saw, there is little or NO movement on my ...

Wow John, you had to have quite a bit of movement done on your teeth.

I agree the views you provided give a bit more insight into the bite. I'll ask her to send those to me.

Meryaten, You asked earlier about the bite. I asked the dentist, and he said he is not touching it at all. If you look at my Clincheck, you'll see my bite looks fairly normal, even though another dentist told me that my bite wasn't right, it seems pretty good to me. I do hear a clicking sound when I...

So i talked to my dentist today, and he told me that the profile change just refers to the angle of my teeth in the front. He didn't like the way they were going to be tilted too far inward. So, he is suggesting leaving some space on the canine and then it should be more straight as opposed to tilti...

The end result looks great to me, but i am really concerned about the profile being changed, as I don't know a lot about my profile and how it will change with this. As I understand it profile changes mean that you will see less of your mouth/teeth when you smile, is that correct? If so, reducing my...
