Re: Do you think orthos give the standard of Two Years just
I had my initial upfront fee paid when the braces went on, then it was x19 months of payment. The initial set of documents had the full quote on it and a sentence mentioning something about if we had difficulties paying the stated amount every month it could be adjusted, provided the final amount wa...

Re: Closing extractions.... what did your ortho do?
I'm in the 'juggling' phase in closing my last gap. 3nd last visit i had powerchains on my top teeth. So my teeth eventually slid side to side, no gaps. 2nd visit i had indiviudal ligs on top teeth. My top teeth re-gapped at the spot that my ortho is trying to treat. last visit i had (a few days bac...

Re: Braces off in a week but midline seems to be off-need ad
Both my mid-lines are off too.
As much as i wish they were in the middle, i doubt my ortho can shift them there given my jaw/teeth/space etc conditions.
I'm just happy that i have a smile that looks reasonably nice compared to how crowded/unaligned my teeth were before braces.

ok, let me think back I remember the ceramics feeling chunky, and the metal ones a bit like smooth pebbles. I had problems closing my lips together because of the extra bulk, felt like i had to put in extra effort to stretch both lips so my mouth was closed. First thing i tried to eat was a toasted ...

Mine moved pretty much from the time the braces went on. I remember going home and flossing that night, and the space between two of my teeth were bigger than normally. I had major over crowding (my wires were nowhere near straight from front on!) and knowing my teeth positions so well, any little s...

My treatment time got lengthened, and in one of the last few visits, my ortho jokingly said: 'don't worry, we'll have them off before 2015!' But on a more serious note, he said they'd be off 2nd half of this year and i started to get the itch of wanting them off a few months back, so i reall...

I remember when i first got braced, and as i was falling asleep i noticed that my tongue would rest heavily on the back of my lower (front) teeth, and it would hurt! so i had to reshift my tongue so the weight wasn't predominantly leaning on them. Also caught myself clenching my jaws as i slept. Wou...

I was also one of the worse cases with discomfort, i remember it being really bad for about 2 weeks and then another month or so before i could chew properly! But, I have a feeling part of the difficulty with me eating was that my teeth were really crooked and when they initially shifted, my bite po...

Same here, i remember it was around the 2 month mark that i could get off my liquid diet haha  But through out the first year I carried protein drinks around with me, cause eating was still a slow process for me. I think it was from the shifting pains from each adjustment, and also getting used...

I've got 8 molar bands. My back molar, furthest back - top left used to be tilted much more than the right, but since it got given a molar band, it's evened out. I can't tell you if it has moved, but it has tilted! I also started out with 4 molar bands leaving the molars closest to my throat u...
