Sounds exactly like I felt everytime I was going in before my surgery. Just hang on and everything will work out just fine for you :)

I will be the person on the other end of the spectrum here. I do regret getting my surgery. I had the lower jaw moved forward back in december. I had to go back again in february because all the hardware was coming out of my jaw. Then back in again a third time at the end of last month beacuse the h...

Everyone is different, but I would say after a months time I was looking realtively normal again. Only a bit of puffiness. Only thing really was the bruise that hung around for a while. But hey, you can make up a cool story for it. Hehe.

Well, my 1 hour surgery turned into a 3 hour surgery. They replaced all the hardware on the left side of my jaw as it never healed at all for some reason. They used longer screws, and they threw an extra screw in for good measure. I guess I also had one screw loose on the right side so they replaced...

Have to go in for 2nd surgery

While on vacation about 12 days ago, after eating and doing my jaw stretching I realized that two teeth on the left side of my mouth were touching that never used to touch before. And this was also causing me to not be able to bite down on the right side. It would get worse throughout the day and wo...

How long was it before you could sleep laying flat again?

I sure do miss being able to sleep laying down completely. I tried sleeping laying down on Satruday night and woke up resembling a Cabbage Patch kid on sunday morning. I've been trying once a week over the last 3 weeks to see if my face will not swell up on me when I sleep laying down. But the...

I had some problems speaking after my jaw was unwired. I'm 5 weeks post op now, unwired for 3. I have a problem with a couple letters every now and then but its getting better. Just talk and work on it, it just takes some time for everything to get back to normal :)

The infection had seemed to have cleared up, there was no oozing or anything so I was excited. But then between last night and this morning the right side of my jaw & face swelled up, and the area that swelled became hard. :( Called the doc, he called in another prescription for antibiotics that...

Been rinsing with salt water, and also used the home remedy for abcessed teeth I knew about. Put a dry tea bag in the area for a couple hours and it will draw out the infection. Seemed to have helped this morning cause I didnt get as much stuff out of the area as the last couple days.

Another shifing bite question...

Is it normal for it to shift at all? I have been unwired since last Friday, and everything has gone relatively ok since then. I have been wearing my rubber band except when eating and letting my face have a break for a little bit after eating. The teeth get brushed and they go back in. Last night af...

Hello everyone! Things are still going good. Been posting pics and stuff in my blog (link is in my sig). I was wondering when did everyone have their first Post-Op with their surgeon? What did they do at this appointment? Did they take xrays and such? One of my family members is going to be calling ...

So, today has been a really tough day for me. One problem is just not being able to speak, its proving to be absolutely frustrating. But the thing that is bothering me the most is I'm not able to get anything thicker than a tomato soup through my teeth and bite plate. I can't get any applesauce in, ...
