I've pretty much stopped using mine. It's true, the battery life is AWFUL!!!
I put rechargeable batteries in but it's still annoying. And water gets in the battery compartment and starts to rust the batteries. It's a wet piece of junk in my opinion.

I'm 32 and WAS SO EXCITEd to get my braces too!
I guess at this age we've suffered long enough with
a "not-so-perfect" smile. I'm so happy for ya'!

I've had mine for 12 days. It's much better than the first 3 or 4 days.
I'm getting used to eating a wider variety of foods again...thank God!

My dentist said that I could use a waterpik instead of the pesky flossing.
I thought I'd just stay with flossing but after 6 days with braces, lastnight I went out and bought a waterpik. BOY is flossing with braces a PAIN!!!
It takes sooooo darn long. I hope I like the waterpik.

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to lig colors.
I chose clear braces to be as inconspicuous as possible
so I'm planning to have clear ligs the entire time.
They haven't given me staining problems YET,
but I've only had my braces for a week.

I just got braced last Friday and I too am amazed at
how much the posters know about their braces.
I just wrote on a thread that I don't know the brand of mine.
All I know is that they are the clear kind.

I noticed that I clench down on my tongue now too.
I have a feeling it will go away as soon as my mouth
gets used to all of this hardware.

When I first saw my ortho, he said I have a tounge thrust and gave me some exercises to do each day to get rid of or lessen it.
I need to start doing them.

What a shame. I don't even KNOW what company
my clear braces are by. that'll be my next question at my next appt.

Yepp, same here!!!
I can't wait to get my normal pouty lips back.
With braces they're too pouty to me.
My sister LOVES my new look.
I don't feel like myself.
And on top of that I've lost a few pounds
not eating as much so my face is a bit more
defined with poutier lips.
