The benefit to having 4 extractions, for me, was that it not only allowed all of my teeth to straighten but it also allowed for my whole bite to move backwards...I had a bit of a protruding profile...and now I think I have a great profile. the gaps were noticible for the first 6 months and completel...

All four of my wisdom teeth are impacted and about 4 months ago i thought i had food caught in my back teeth. I reached my finger in there and realized my wisdom tooth up top had crowned! I am wondering the same thing...shouldnt I have had these things removed prior to starting treatment...my ortho ...

when I was 19 years old I went for a consult and had no ortho insurance the price that i was quoted back then was actually about the same as when I got braces in 2007 4 years later. My insurance only pays for 1750 over the course of 2 years so really not worth paying a private insurance company to c...

My ortho has me in elastics for the last 6 months of treatment he wants to move my midline over. He says my cross bite is off on the right side... I want to fix the cross bite but I do not care if the midlines don’t match up. Like others have said on the board...who will notice the midlines except...

I think what you are feeling is valid...I would loose trust too! I think you should bring it up but that is easy for me to say. I find it hard to ask my ortho questions (like when am I getting my braces off) but this is much more important. When my ortho gets a little tuff with my braces I usually c...

Is it wrong to ask your orthodontist?
Is it wrong to ask your orthodontist when you will get your braces off? The past few visits he has been saying "Wow..almost there" or "Wow we are so close". (not sure if he says that to humor me but from what I see we are almost done). He told me that total treatment would be 24 ...

I paid for my braces that way!! My braces where 3,500. I paid 1500 down on my credit card (because I didnt do the plan that year) then the next year I enrolled and since I had not paid my balance off i used the plan to pay off the remainder of my balance. I would probably hold tight about calling your ortho about the power chain situation. 1. My ortho uses the power chains to do a few things...close my gaps where teeth were removed or keep teeth together so they don’t spread out. I don’t notice differences right away or even notice them unless I ...

Heck yea I am!!! I have been braced since august 2007 and I was really pro-braces for a while....if my teeth didn’t hurt after an adjustment I was disappointed. I was happy with my changing mouth...but now the progress has slowed and the once somewhat annoying things have become extremely annoying...

I am 23 and I had the same extractions that you would be getting. I got my braces on after the extractions I am glad I did because I can imagine how hard it would have been to clean my mouth with braces and gaping holes!!! I work on the phone as an insurance agent and for the first 3 weeks I thought...
