Most probably due to a space/clearance issue with your bite - too small a space to attach them behind upper teeth?

Thank you all for kind words and cute cartoonies.
Now I see I have some work to whiten-up a little, lots of bi-carb & peroxide toothpaste with brushing!

Chomp chomp! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/aussierob/web-finish.jpg Yes I'm all done. 45 weeks is all it took. At times like these, you look back and think: "That wasn't such a big deal" I like my new teeth though. Even have a nice new tongue-toy: http://img.photobucket.com/albums...

At my spacers time my ortho had a lot of trouble getting the elastic separators between my molars ... space was very tight. However she battled on and got them in OK. Her other option was to use the metal-wire-twist mentioned here but said she wanted to avoid that as they are "barbaric" Ho...

Wisdom teeth extraction can be very unpleasant, my advice is postpone until you feel 100% over the cold/flu/sickness because you really don't want anything making it worse than it needs to be.

Last adjustment done!

Went in for adjustment today and just had a change of lig. colours.

Nothing else to do apart from booking the next appointment ... for 90 minutes ... for braces removal on 20 December!!

That'll make my treatment 45 weeks (since 7 Feb)

Looking forward to chewing the turkey!

I'm going to update on my "favourite floss" choice... Now I like the "Caredent" brand "periotape" with PTFE fibre. Caredent also market an excellent range of interproximal brushes and rubber toothpick stick things (I'll need these once my permanent retainer is glued in)...

Will ask to keep all the bits (already have some old archwired and moulds)
Will throw them into the little box that I keep my wisdom teeth in.
I think I have some sort of OCD/pack-rat syndrome!

Don't worry about gaps during your braces treatment! It's all part of the furniture rearrangement. If this helps, I'll yap about myself again: Developed a big (1.5 - 2mm) gap on my top row (developed gradually since May) Mentioned it at my adjustment, got a 'power chain' across 6 teeth (the gap was ...
