Re: Better before over correction??

Yes, sometimes over-correction trays do "over-correct" and not for the better. Refinement may or may not fix the issues you now have, depending on how your doctor and the technician plan the new trays. If you are happy with your teeth's position in a previous tray, the easier way is just g...

Re: Invisalign in the UK / London?

I came to know about Q Clinic through one of my colleagues, who had her invisalign there. I finished my consultation last week and im very much looking forward to continuing with the treatment. They have a very good team, and they took the time to explain everything to me and what to expect. C'mon,...

Re: Anyone had a T-Spring?

Clearstep is not widely used and therefore not much info. For those who prefer aligners, they usually choose Invisalign. For those who want fixed braces, there are various choices. With Clearstep, you have to wear both aligners and fixed braces or other ortho appliances … usually one after the other...

Re: bite question

Sorry about your troubles. If your teeth require the extra force from elastics to move into their desired positions, you’d need elastics regardless of whether you have braces or Invisalign. I wore elastics for over a year and they never popped. You should ask your doctor to investigate… it could be ...

Re: Hello! I have no pain with 1st trays , is this normal?

... it is common to have no pain at all with the first trays? ... Yes it’s common. Some orthos give patients one or two sets of trays at the beginning to “warm up” … i.e. little or no tooth movements. You’re not supposed to have any pain during treatment. I've been in treatment for 2 years now and ...

Re: Help! Invisalign or Six (6) month Smiles

...So I understand invisalign but still dont completely understand 6 month smile fully apart from it may take longer than 6 months. Do they both achieve the same results? ...I'd prefer the less high-maintenance of the two if effectiveness is equal... 1.5-2 years of regular tray removal and cleaning...

Re: Can I change aligners one day early? Newbie Question

Yes you can. I did that myself with my ortho's approval. Doctors usually plan small movements for the first tray anyway. May be you could give your ortho's office a quick call to confirm it.

Re: A newbie here---three questions for everyone!!!

Hi Kim, here's my thoughts on your questions ... 1. When you compare the number of trays, you have to consider your specific diagnosis and the provider who’s conducting the treatment. You may need more corrections to your teeth than your friends. Some providers, mostly general dentists (no specializ...

Re: Help! Misalignment between elastic's metal button and tr

I wore elastics and had a similar cut in my trays. It was a bit wider at the edge, more like the one in your first pic after the cut by your office. The cut doesn’t compromise tooth movement or weaken the integrity of the trays. My ortho planned the cut in early 2010 before elastics became a standar...

This is not normal. Sounds like your doctor or hygienist didn't do a good job at polishing them. Ask your doctor to smooth them out asap.

Re: Clearstep/invisalign users please!

Both Invisalign and Clearstep are simply orthodontic appliances used to align teeth. It’s the doctor who determines the scope of treatment using his skills and experience and based on diagnosis of your teeth’s condition.

Re: Clearstep/invisalign users please!

Sometimes you can’t tell the full extent of treatment from internet blogs, which usually show the teeth in front. Orthodontics is not just about straightening the front teeth; it’s about fixing the bites in the front and back as well. Bite problems are usually not shown clearly and they take longer ...

Re: Clearstep/invisalign users please!

#1 - #4) Only your dentist can answer these questions. Every case is different. Your dentist is responsible for planning and approving your treatment plan before production starts. You should ask him to review your treatment plan with you to get a better understanding. #5) Depends on how close up yo...
