Q.C.M. Retainers

I actually saw them when I went for my last consultation. They're called the Q.C.M. Retainers. The look like a Wrap Around Howley with the metal part of the wire all the way in the back. The Ortho that I met with that has these types of retainers said most Orthos are changing to them and traditional...

New QMC Retainers/Nance Permanent Retainers

I was wondering if anyone on this site has either heard of or has the new QMC Removable Retainers? I saw them when I went for an Ortho Consult and did not know that now some Orthos are using those in place of Howleys (they look like a Howley Retainer, just the bow in the front is clear and the metal...

Thank you to all who have replied.

Thank you for all of you have replied. I thought this might be a ridiculous question to ask, but I figured I couldn't be the only nail biter out there who has wondered about nail biting and braces. I hope all in the USA had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for your reply. I give myself manicures weekly, even have gone to the extremes of having accrylic nails on to help me with not biting my nails, to using the stuff in the stores that supposedly tastes nasty. Nothing's worked. I know my mom had threatened me years ago that eventhough I didn'...

Ortho Appliances to help with nail biting?

I am due to get braces for anywhere from 1-2 years with or without a bite plate(whenever my finanaces improve and I can pay to get them on finally), but I have always been a nail biter and know that nail biting is harmful to braces. I was wondering if anyone on here has ever had any Orthodontic Appl...

Good luck getting your daughter to get her expander in

I don't know how much help I will be to you on this topic, but I know how irritating it must be for you wanting to have your daughter started on her way to a beautiful smile. I'm now 25 and wanting to finally get going with getting braces. I was told when I was 7 that I needed them and gave my paren...

I love my Sonicare Inteliclean Toothbrush

I used to work at Bed Bath & Beyond where we sold Sonicare toothbrushes. I used to use the Sonicare Advance and then went to the Sonicare Inteliclean (the one with the toothpaste in it). I love it. I'm afraid to switch toothbrushes. The heads for the Inteliclean and the Sonicare Elites are small...

3rd Consultation

Today I went in for what I think will be my last consultation. All of the assistants at the Ortho's office I had my appointment today were all very friendly and answered a ton of questions I had. It was a comfort to know that the Ortho that I'm going with has told me about her 2 times in Braces as d...

Thank you for setting me straight!

Thank you for setting me straight on the Company. All they told me in an Email from the Ortho's office were that the metal Brackets were 3M Unitek. I think on the display of them that were on their desk were the Victory Brackets. All I know were the Clarity and the Victory brackets looked the same s...

3M Clarity & Unitek Brackets

I was wondering if anyone on this site has either the 3M Clarity or Unitek brackets on? I was wondering how your like having them on and are they big or are they small for brackets? The ortho I'm highly considering uses those types of brackets and I was just wanting to g et opinions from anyone who ...
