I just called the ortho office to see if my retainers in, but they're not here yet. Oh well, more time with the clear and more esthetic retainers. They don't bother me at all now, but I'd imagine they're harder to clean than hawleys.

I'm really surprised that being debanded was painful for you. Having really sensitive teeth isn't uncommon, but personally, I think you should get it checked out. I'm sure something can be done about it.

I would have to say maybe it's stained glue or possibly buildup. I got some buildup in the same area from not being able to reach it properly with braces, but it was white like tartar. Wow, impressive change, PfectPitch! I agree with jenjen on your bite. It's perfect! I had a deep bite as well and it is so much more comfortable to bite down now that it's fixed.

My mom advised me to wait until I'm a bit older to make that decision and I think my teeth look decently longer without braces. I can wait a couple years :) I will definitely be wearing my retainers! It really depends on the case/orthodontist on whether the elastics are a sign of getting them off soon. Usually orthodontists sort out the bite with elastics after everything is straightened out, which seems to be the case for you. After that they'll do some minor adjustments then you're done.
