My ortho shaved a bit between molars to get a band on a 2nd molar. He knew I didn't like that because I told him so, but he did ask about it. Then, after debanding, I was shocked when he was using the tool to clean up glue that the tech wasn't able to get at - and he suddenly came at me with the res...

Well, it's been closing in on 3 months since debanding, and I still have intermittent jaw pain. I've seen my dentist and my ortho in the last 6 weeks. Both said the molar in question looks fine and there are no cracks. I've not had an xray. Now both my molars on the left side sometime ache. I have a...

Jaw ache after braces removal

I had braces 2 years and 9 months to fix overbite. I have one molar crown which required a band (other back molars had brackets). I had braces removed Oct 10. AFter that, the crowned molar was sensitive to cold liquids. The next week I had a serious cleaning at dentist's office. The hygenist said sh...

I had my braces (ceramic) removed 10/10 and went to regular dentist for a cleaning about 10 days later. That cleaning hurt. She said orthos always leave a lot of composite on even after polishing, and she poked so much at my teeth that I imagine she removed some enamel too. She said there was still ...

retainer brite vs. denture cleaner?

I was debanded 10/10 and have an upper essix and lower hawley retainer. I have samples of the retainer brite. Is there much difference between denture cleaner and retainer brite?

Sorry to confuse things. I suppose this is really off topic for this thread. My incisors are tending to want to meet end to end and clash when speaking, occasionally when eating. It is an intermittent problem. The ortho is working to event out bottom incisors a bit to try to prevent this. More worri...

Also, I had a very deep overbite, which is now gone, and bite looks pretty good, but teeth so close together that I still bang them together - sometimes almost in an overbite. do others have this problem?

I had my braces off 10/10. I had clear ones on bottom and top. Forget the brand now. My braces were always fairly comfortable and I had no jaw pain by the time they came off. Getting them off was pretty painful, but I lost no fillings. I do have a molar with a crown, and they couldn't get a bracket ...

short roots

I had braces as a teen, overbite returned, and I had serious root resorption on an upper lateral incisor and some resorption on the incisor next to it. Ortho told me about it after doing panoramics before starting treatment. I went to an endodontist, oral surgeon, crown guy, they all said I should ...

Braces on 2+ years, still a problem with canine (?)

I've had braces for 2 years and 2 months to correct a very deep overbite. I had braces as a teen and they pulled 4 teeth to make room. Subsequently my bite collapsed. At this point my teeth look pretty good (not perfect but they were worn some from grinding) but I continue to have a problem with my ...

Well, I have (so far) some good news about the root resorption issue. I posted here several times in the past about my adventures in orthodontics. I had ortho when I was a teen, over 30 years ago. I had some oral surgery and one impacted tooth that was surgically exposed and brought down with the br...

I have ceramic upper & lower. I've kept was on front lowers for most of time they've been on because they would bang uppers; now I only use was at night. I still think they look better than metal. I had clear or tooth colored ligs for a year, then switched to neon pink and love them. I do wonder...

I'm older (48) and I think my face looks thinner. not necessarily a good thing for older ladies either. cheekbones less prominent, but I think that's also a result of extractions when I had braces as a teen. Ellebee, that is my favorite Warren Zevon song and quote. I hate that he died too young. I s...

My lowers really hurt for about a month but then mostly calmed down. I've had them for almost 15 months. Mike I have a question about your comment: My ortho and I talked a bit about whether I would be open to "other appliances" if the elastics and archwire don't upright my flared molars. M...
