Mind the gap.
Hello, I have not posted for a while I guess I have got so used to my brace that I have forgotten about it. :D During my last adjustment my ortho put me in "my final wire" It is very industrial and hurt like hell for a just over a week. I could hardly bear to tickle my teeth with a toothbr...

Hi, Is it an individual tooth which slants or a gradual slope of your teeth as a whole? Slanting teeth is one of the reasons I have braces. Due to an accident and a previous rubbish dentist making crowns which are too big and not level my top teeth have a gradual slope from left to right. If you ima...

cosmicgirl I know how you feel! Firstly I have also stuffed my face with easter egg chocolate and secondly a similar experience happened to me in the first few days of being braced. I decided to have spaghetti for tea as I thought it was nice and soft and unoffensive, how wrong was I! As you said on...

Hi, Congrats on joining the brace club!! I've never tried a floss threader but use oral B superfloss as it has a stiff end that you can easily thread under the wire without being to bulky. It's quite thick though so may be uncomfortable if your teeth are crowded. It's not for everyone but it works f...

Just had 3rd adjustment again about 8 mins and had some sort of elastic band platted along the bottom wire - not sure w...

The brush she used was the smallest size (pink I think) My teeth were tight together before the brace and only satin tape would go through most of the gaps. I struggle to get superfloss through some of the teeth let alone a brush. I will use a brush for the larger gaps that seem to be appearing and ...

Teepee bush inbetween teeth???
Hi, I saw the hygienist yesterday who told me not to floss and to use a teepee brush inbetween the teeth at the gum line instead. She then proceeded to shove one of those darn brushes through every single tooth (it hurt like hell and made my mouth bleed lots) :-(( most pain I have had in a long time...

Hello, I have not had any problems with drinking coffee. I have ceramic on top and metal on bottom with pearl ligs that are fairly stain resistant (mind you I do not eat curry!) I have to have at least 2 cups of coffee before I can contemplate the world every morning and so far I've had no noticable...

Hi, I dreaded my extractions, but they were no where near as bad as I thought they would be. All over within about 5 minutes. I had top 4's and bottom 5's removed one side at a time. It took longer to give the anaesthetic than it did to pull the teeth! I had wisdoms removed a few years back under ge...

A Nice Suprise - I think?
Hello, I had my second adjustment yesterday. My teeth have not hurt for about the last month so I was expecting it to be a breeze as the 1st adjustment was very uncomfortable. My ortho got very excited and kept saying "good , excellent, wow, making great progress" which I was chuffed about...

Hi, Sorry to hear about your ulcer I know how much of a pain they can be. I have had a huge ulcer on my bottom lip for 2 weeks now. I have been using colgate peroxide mouthwash 2-3 times a day and it has helped to ease the pain. It is slowly (and I mean slowly) starting to shrink and heal. Have you ...
