Yea... Biteplate removed !

Well after 7 months with a non-removable bite plate, it's out, for a week anyway. A nance appliance with bite block is going in next.

Anyway I get to floss my top teeth now.

I'm lisping again but not as bad as when the infernal appliance went in.

Deep bite treatment

Hi I'm 39 and my deep bite is being corrected by a bite plate that has coil springs attached to it to push the top molars back. I've had this contraption in my mouth for 6 months now and possibly it will be removed at my next visit in 6 weeks. Once the molars are pushed back I'll be getting a nance ...

Bite Plate

I got my non removable bite plate back in December. It does get easier, as your molars start to erupt chewing gets easier. I just resigned myself to soft foods for the first couple of months. I was all ready eating a soft food diet anyway as I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time before I got ...

Deep Overbite

Hi, I have a deep overbite and did not require jaw surgery in my case. The ortho installed a bite plate rigged with coil springs which makes my molars erupt to open the deep bite and push the molars back to fix the over bite. Of course you'll need to talk to an orthodontist to see what will be requi...

Trip 7 to the Orthodontist.

Good news ! THe doc said that the distalizer/bite plate combo comes out on the next visit in 6 weeks :) Other than that just got fresh black ligs in the same configuration. Single rubber band on the left side is also the same.

Trip 6 to the ortho.

Just got back from trip number 6 to the orthodontist. They're happy with the way my molars are moving, the doc said in a couple of more visits the Greenfield appliance can be removed. I went for black ligs this time. Got a power chain installed on the lower front 6 teeth and an elastic on the left s...

My molars have to move about 5 mm and in 3 months they have moved about 1.5 mm. The distalizer really isn't noticeable as mine sits in the rear of my mouth. I also have the top front 6 teeth braced with ceramics and the bottom arch braced in metal. I go in for my 10 week checkup this Friday so I sho...

Distalizer

I have a Greenfield molar distalizer on both sides of my top arch. Had it for about 3 months now with no problems. The idea in my case it to push the first and second molars back at the same time and then pull the rest of the arch back once the molars are in position. It's anchored at the front of m...

I totally agree. When I got my top braces I was worried about what people would think/say. No one noticed. After getting my bite plate my co workers noticed my change in speech and asked what was up. In the two months since having my non removable bite plate I've learned to speak again. Now I could ...

Trip five to the orto today. Got metal braces installed on the bottom, now finally all of the hardware is installed. Only 16 to 21 or so months to go now. The next appointment is March 28th. The doc said that I could go so long between appointments because there was nothing else to do until the appl...

I've had my bite plate for a week now and unfortunately it's not removable. Talking is getting easier however and my co-workers have been very understanding concerning my speech impediment. :D I've been sticking to soups and other soft foods since there is big gap between my molars and now I can't c...
