Hey, it's been a million years since I've posted but I now have about 4 more months of braces under my belt! I had some very strange changes as my teeth have moved around. I've had buck teeth, gaps, closed gaps, new gaps, teeth that seemed to move behind each other, teeth that appeared longer than t...

I had 7 - all on the bottom and all within the first 10 days. I am glad my orthos office is 5 minutes away. Obviously the initial bonding didn't go well!!!

Starbucks - Use a straw

Hey ladies!!! I don't have ligs but I have ceramics on top. My ortho's office told me coffee, soda, and red wine could stain them but they said to use a straw. I've steered clear of the red wine (too risky) but I drink coffee and soda every day and I've used a straw probably 95% of the time. No stai...

My ortho said he would do slenderizing as treatment progress if my profile became too "full". I also took this to mean later in treatment. Hmm, maybe you are moving right along. I doubt your spaces will take long to close.

I have the Innovation C also and really like them. Yes, you can see the metal in them and I've seen the perfectly clear ones and might prefer them but not having ligs is great.

I wanted Invisalign but my ortho said I'd have better results with traditional. The more I read about Invisalign the happier I am that I didn't get them.

I had a new stronger wire on my top teeth after 7 weeks. But they totally left my bottoms alone. I have a spring trying to make room for a tooth not attached to the wire and there isn't enough room yet. So I have to wait until Jan 28th to get the tooth on the wire. Then, I still won't have a stronge...

I'm paying by the month. I paid a hefty downpayment and my monthly payment is through Orthobanc - $180 per month. If you can swing it it's worth it.

For me the first 2 days weren't that bad. Then eating became almost unbearable for a couple of days. On the 5th day it magically subsided. Yes, it feels like all your teeth are loose. One day I took 8 Advil and it hardly touched the pain although the pain of my torn up cheeks ran together with my ve...

I really wish I could have had all ceramics (I have ceramic uppers and metal lowers) but my ortho didn't offer it up front (I don't care about the extra cost) but I found out later that lower ceramics can destroy your upper teeth if you hit and I do hit on my lowers from time to time and I really hi...

Oh lordy! I had molar build ups which I ground off gradually in the middle of the night - which was fine - my teeth moved enough in the first 2 weeks that I wasn't hitting anymore. But, about food (lmao) I simply sucked mine for the first 10 days!!!!! Face it, baked potatos and macaroni and cheese m...

Wow Marine Corps!!! That is very cool 8) I've done Birmingham, Disney, and the new ING Georgia. My marathon performances have been totally less than stellar which is why I'm spending this winter season and maybe even next getting my half marathon and 5K times down in order to train for a BQ marathon...

Food, oh yeah, forgot about that little issue. I lost a few pounds the first two weeks and had some trouble working out but hang in there. I gained it back and am back into running and working out full swing. I did loaded baked potatoes and really really cooked pasta. I too have self ligating bracke...
