I've experienced some similar concerns as yours. I have had my braces for 16 months now and I had about three teeth that were really terrible at the beginning. They are practically straight now, but not as perfect as I was expecting. My midline is still off. Another tooth has a small gap, but I have...

I've been wearing mine for 7 months. I've had two different sizes of rubberbands with three different configurations during that time.

I've never had any come off and it should stay that way as I'm hopefully getting them off in a little over a month!

Mine was the same way after my October adjustment. I would definitely call. I didn't notice mine until about a week before my next adjustment (not sure how long it was like that). At my appointment the ortho mentioned that sometimes it happens. I noticed a couple of mine were like yours and only one...

I'm kind of in the same situation. I have had 3 different elastic configurations since May. My bite feels so much better, actually pretty much perfect, but there are still a lot of gaps on one side. 5 weeks ago at my last appointment the gaps were pretty much the same and the ortho said the elastic ...

Question for Damon Wearers

I have metal damon brackets on my top and bottom. My last adjustment was just over a month ago, but yesterday I noticed that on a couple of brackets the "door" was not closed. It was like the archwire was in the way holding it open. Does anyone know if this is supposed to happen sometimes?...

I remember going to my first adjustment thinking it couldn't possibly be as bad as getting them on. I was definitely wrong! The good news is that, for me anyways, those were the worst of my adjustments. They're more bearable now.

I had my last appointment on Friday, and I was feeling the same way! My primary orthodontist always comes over once the assistant has already had me lay down to check things or take out the wire. He goes straight to work and I can't talk while he's working in my mouth. As soon as he's done he talks ...

Even after 14 months of braces my biggest fear is what other people say or think. Shallow, I know, but I'm working on it and it has gotten a little better. Mostly just when I meet new people or people who haven't seen me in them yet. I also worry about having them longer than expected, that they won...

Mine are about 8 weeks usually as well. Although, I am a college student so they will schedule me sooner if it fits in with when I will be at home. At my last appointment though, the ortho said he wanted to schedule it for 4 weeks anyways. I wouldn't worry about it too much, because mine have varied...

I was told by the dentist that with braces I should get a cleaning every 3-4 months. But, being away at college, I just do the regular 6 month visits. I've had two cleanings with braces on and both times the archwire was left on. They actually never said anything about getting it removed. I don't kn...

I am going to be a sophomore in college and got braces in August just before my freshman year. Its always exciting to find others my age who are going through the same thing! You're lucky to have someone live next to you going through it as well. I was also really worried about what other people wou...

I'm not a frequent poster here, but have been a member since I got braces and check the boards semi-frequently. I am also about to start my sophomore year of college and got my braces right before the start of my freshman year in August 2007. I'll try and give you some of my thoughts on what I've ex...
