oh wow I didn't know that! For some reason I thought Essix had the same effect as Invisalign (probably because of the way it looks) so I had assumed it had more functionality. Thanks... I know that they are going with the Essix so I will definitely bring this up since they had mentioned I may deband...

What can Essix retainers do besides keep teeth intact?

Hello all! I've searched pages upon pages and couldn't seem to find anyone who answered this question before. So I thought I'd ask one more time to see if within the past few weeks someone has experienced this. I am wondering what functional purposes Essix retainers have aside from keeping teeth in ...

Yes, it can definitely be hard to ask questions especially when you know they are busy. BUT in my opinion you are paying for this person's professional services and it should be their job to educate you on the process. If I were you I would go ahead and ask questions. It's better to put your mind at...

No you're not crazy! :) This has happened to me before while I was talking, but now it's moved on to happening during sleep! I will wake up because my teeth come crashing down but I've found that these are all phases. Your teeth will continue to move and if you wear elastics I think that contributes...

Hey Gennel, I would post pics but unfortunately (or sadly) my camera broke during a vacation in Mexico and I still haven't bought one yet. PuppySmiles- thanks for the info! Although, I think that in my case it's more about not having enough impact to even have the Occlusal Adjustment done =) When I ...

What would you do?? & Thank you!!

Friends, I need your advice on what you would do in this situation. I have a potential debanding date but there are two things that are preventing me from feeling 100% elated. 1) My journey began with an edge to edge and a posterior open bite. Now my molars are touching but every time I take the ela...

Thanks... the research that I've done did say something about how x-rays may not necessarily show the inflammation... so I can imagine the frustration you must have. I'll try the sudafed and see how things progress... didn't know there were others out there that had the same experience! Thanks all f...

Ear clogged from inflammation in jaw joint???

Hi guys, Recently my ears have felt really clogged and at first I thought it was water that had gone in from a recent shower. But after researching some more I realized that it could/is from the inflammation of the jaw joints! Does anyone have a remedy for this? I heard ibuprofen but anyone out ther...

Did Everyone Feel Good About Taking Braces Off?

Hi there! I guess this is a question for those that already debanded or for those that are about to... Did anyone feel as if it were the "right" time for the braces to come off or even felt weird that these braces were coming off so soon? I don't really mean that last bit bc I for one have...

Wow 22 hours a day!? That is AMAZING! I try to wear my elastics at night but I just can't bear it and end up taking them off half way through the night :( They are just soooo painful. And I also wear bands in the molars (upper to lower - straight down) to close the posterior bite I have in the back ...
