I will be debonded:

Tues Dec 23 at 2pm. My Hawleys will be waiting for me. I've got some real mixed emotions right now. This has been such a great journey. Guess I just have to get there and keep moving forward.

at the end of the line

Th ortho office called today to confirm my appt later this week and to remind me to take Ibuprofen an hour before as retainer molds will be taken, a closing wire will be put on the top arch and final bends will be made in place. No, I'm not too excited. :D

15 almost 16 months ago I was where you are today. I've got a few weeks left! The time will go fast. Practice excellent oral hygiene and you won't have any major probs. It's an incredible feeling when all your teeth fit into place and your bite works correctly. This has been so worth it! Best of luc...

seriously, we have never had a food issue with braces. The only food I didn't like to tackle was apples even cut small. Just no fun. But in a few weeks !!! (I'll have to eat them in the basement corner alone.!!)

Got to admit when I smile I'm impressed. chef got the tpa out and those big square wires installed. Anot...

early release for good behavior

!8-24 months was the original estimate. Went in today for an adjustment, got new powerchains, new elastics, was told to put the headgear away for good (was only at night for the past few months and only the lower arch), then the ortho stuck his pliers in my mouth and did some bends--HMG did that hur...

After drooling for a few months I've dried up. Now, like you, it is a sand pit. I too keep much water by the bedside.

I've had a couple that were doozies for sure, especially the last a few weeks ago, I was holding on to the arm rests for dear life! Yanking the old chains off putting new on crossing over each other and trying to get the little doors closed on the innovation r brackets (now a year in place and despi...

Working hours are subjective. So many hours a week to see patients, so many to do lab work, so many to do treatment plans etc. Many orthos have more than one office in my area. So a work week may be 2 days here, 2 there and 2 for all the other work that needs to be done. Others arrange hours for pat...

from what i hear said invisalign can close some gaps, straighten teeth etc, but not rotate or deal with bite issues well. Certainly not expeditiously. Couple folks on the invisalign threads tell of going with brackets after being disappointed with treatment results. It's your mouth the choice is you...

adjustment # 9 (I had to count because I really don't keep a log like I should I guess) 11 months in, no more upper arch headgear at all, and lower arch only 8 hours or so at night for the next six weeks then that too should be done. All teeth saved, none sacrificed! chefy is doing great too. he loo...
