Nachos or just chips and dip is what I miss the most. Also: Salads, cereal, hard candy, carmel. Shoot I miss just not having to think about what I'm eatting. I can eat nachos just fine... tacos too but then I always break it into pieces... As I said I already did this BEFORE I had braces so I'm jus...

Pizza, burgers (fast food style), and "ice cream van stuff" for me, really miss those. Basically, food where you wouldn't normally use a knife & fork, and it's not practical to do so. I also kinda regret having eat mush every time I get an adjustment (normally corned beef hash, which is ok bu...

Thanks for all your advice. I will try to get in to have them changed then so they can be sparkling white again. I brush every day 3x with my Sonicare but they are not turning sparkly white, it's still apparent in natural sunlight and when I look in my mirror with lighting which emulates sunlight. U...

Well, I'm 30 now so I'm not a kid but I have to admit I am very hung up on physical appearance in general and care A LOT about my looks so braces to me do affect the way I feel about myself, I don't feel as confident talking to people, I feel more prone to avoiding talking to people but to be honest...

dentist says i should get cleaning every 3 months

So my dentist says I should get cleanings every 3 months now because I have braces and apparently teeth with braces need more cleanings?

Are you getting your teeth cleaned more often now that you have braces?

I eat EVERYTHING, hamburgers etc. The thing though is that I have a habit of NEVER biting in my food directly even BEFORE I had braces, the main reason why I never bite in my food is because I don't want to mess up my lip gloss or look unattractive shoving food in my mouth (lip gloss slides off fast...

I just use regular Chapstick brand lip balm, and on top of that MAC lipstick in Freckletone, followed with a layer of Chanel glossimer in Coral Reef. They key to smooth sexy lips is to exfoliate them! I suggest putting some creamy face lotion on your lips and then use the towel to rub all the ...

Thanks for all the feedback, I find this subject intriguing. I really admire anyone who has chosen to take on the challenges of getting orthodontic treatment as an adult, especially for cosmetic reasons (I doubt if I have the gonads to have gone through with it purely for cosmetic reasons). So good...

Mine is $5,600 and I'm paying for all of it. I'd rather pay for it and be able to choose the orthodontist then be stuck with someone I don't really feel comfortable with through insurance. Also I chose to have PPO dental insurance through BlueCross which doesn't cover ortho, BlueCross HMO does, but ...

I said "Oh no, not this again  " because the last thread related to this topic got really quite nasty. I just didn't want to see a repeat. ahhh.... ok, fair point. i can already see what you mean, with someone saying "I'm going to say what everyone thinks, but won't say: Minorities usually do...

Anyone ever had a bleeding sore from braces?

A few days ago when I rinsed my mouth it was actually light pink, like a really faint-pink, it was probably 1/8th of one blood drop mixed in with lots of saliva, but it still freaked me out enough to call the ortho and they told me it was normal and to just use wax, which I did, and yes I do rinse w...

Might be generational (first generation american vs. deeper roots here) or might be a gender deal - my Asian colleagues ... in fact most of my colleagues tend to be male. ETA: And, to be crystal clear, I couldn't give a stuff if their teeth do look like ortho would be good for them - I judge them b...
