Re: Help deciding on cosmetic options!

These are the before pix with my gaps. Ortho said my teeth are aligned but she couldnt close the gaps because my teeth are too small. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad33/peach80/2012-04-19182318-1.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad33/peach80/2012-04-19182357-1.jpg http://i919.photobucket....

Re: Help deciding on cosmetic options!

Erik 1122- sorry for the really late response. I live in Maryland. The costs listed are for the sum of 4 teeth. I went with the composite veneers. Here are the after pix. I'm wearing my retainers of course. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad33/peach80/2012-07-10095132-1.jpg http://i919.photobucke...

Re: Extractions and Elastics

I had elastics and extractions. The elastics were on and off throughout treatment and it differs for everyone. I have to talk alot with people for my job and i remember feeling awkward about the elastics at first. I work primarily with kids so some of them asked about them because they were getting ...

Re: Help deciding on cosmetic options!

Apparently my gaps can't be closed because my teeth are small. I really thought they would be closed at the end of treatment or at least nearly closed but the ortho insisted that my teeth are all aligned where they should be. And yes I am disappointed. It was one of the big reasons I took the plunge...

Re: Help deciding on cosmetic options!

I was reading online that crown veneers are more invasive than porcelain because they shave all around the tooth, leaving less to work with in the future. Im not sure how i feel about that. I think I'll check out some pictures online to see what they all look like. The dentist said that theyll stain...

Help deciding on cosmetic options!

So my ortho put me in retainers. I still have two gaps that she said i can have closed through bonding. I just met with my dentist for a consul and he said i have 3 options. I want everyones opinion. 1 composite bonding - will cost me a total of 1400 for all the work. Lasts 10-12 yrs. Fairly durable...

Re: feeling down about end of treatment

Thanks everyone. I bugged my husband to look at my teeth. He said I'm officially crazy because he doesn't see a slant either... that made me feel better. LOL. I think that I'm seeing a slant in my upper arch because of my gum line coming down a bit more on the one side. If none of you dee it then I ...

Re: feeling down about end of treatment

Thank you for being supportive. I guess I just dont see what you do. I can deal with having to get bonding done for the gaps but the slant in my front teeth really bothers me. Honestly, it never looked slanted when I first started tx. Maybe its always been off and the new position of my teeth makes ...

feeling down about end of treatment

So I've been in orthodontic treatment for almost 5 yrs. I had braces for 4 yrs and invisalign for about the last yr. I had crowding on bottom arch, top teeth straight but had two gaps, and an overbite. During treatment, my upper arch became noticably more slanted. The invisalign helped straighten th...

Re: 3 years and counting - RANT

Hi sunshine101! I don't have any advice for you but just wanted you to know you're not alone. I've been in braces for 4 yrs and 3months. I also had expanders top and bottom for 6 months. My ortho switched me from ceramic braces to invisalign a few months ago. It's been slow going. At one point i fel...

Re: debraced but not done...opinions

Thanks for the reply luckylola. When I said I could see my teeth after the braces came off, I meant that the ceramic brackett took up most of the surface of my tooth so I actually couldn't tell how much enamel was affected until I could see my naked teeth. The invisalign is suppose to finish levelin...

Re: if I see another bowl of soup I'm gonna snap

Crest glide threader floss. The kind that comes in individual packets. It has one end that's stiff so you don't need a threader and I haven't ever had a problem with it shredding on the brackets. I buy mine at target or walmart. There's 30 per box and costs about 5 bucks but I think its totally wort...

help w/swollen gums

My gums have been swollen and sensitive since getting my braces removed Wednesday. They still bleed a little after flossing sometimes. Also, my enamel looks pretty worn on my front bottom and top teeth. I've bought some proenamel toothpaste and crest prohealth mouthwash today. I have been using pero...

debraced but not done...opinions

So to summarize, I've been in braces for 4 yrs and my ortho decided to finish my treatment with invisalign. I got my braces off yesterday, got a retainer, and got molds done for the invisalign. I'm feeling pretty down about my teeth. I have to get them cleaned and have a date for june 9, which gives...
