I'm like you - sometimes I look in the mirror and they look great and other times they look so different from the beginning, and you just have to get use to them.

Chris, if you are talking about the bottom "front" teeth - yes, my ortho filed my front 4 teeth and slightly shortened my bottom canines and it improved my bite. He didn't take much off, but it really helped. Now my back molars meet first.

I too am settling for less than perfect. I was told I needed jaw surgery, but do not have the funds for that, and didn't want it anyway.
