When I was treated for perio, she brought it up as a suggestion to use while braced.

I've never done it, not because I don't trust her, but because I'm too lazy to bother mixing it properly and then using it.

I think it's that the particular design for the Damon "doors" makes them very susceptible to tartar. Now I am not for one moment accusing anyone of not brushing properly - fact is some of us just produce more tartar than others due to our particular body chemistry. Thus, some people will ...

I had a very large gap in my teeth that closed in a couple of weeks after getting my braces on. I saw a HUGE improvement in DAYS. Plenty of people on this forum have had wonky teeth that fixed up quickly. You do not see celebrities every day. You see photos that appear, and you do not know when they...

Braces, to me, were neither a positive nor a negative socially - they just were. If I needed to excuse myself after a business or social lunch/dinner to nip off and get the last vestiges of the meal out of my grill, I did so, stating blandly that with braces I needed to go and clean up. Beyond that...

I am 29 years old and have never had a cavity. As a child, I decided that it would be awesome to dab some toothpaste on my tongue to fool my parents into thinking I brushed (I have no idea why I did this, lol) and as a teenager and until about 22 or 23, only brushed in the morning. Mostly out of laz...

I have a baby canine. I do have an adult tooth, but it will stay where it is forever, which means that I will never see it. :P My ortho doesn't like to pull unless a tooth absolutely needs to be gone, but he believes i should have an implant. However, he also thinks i should hang on to my baby as lo...

Zero impact socially, but then I don't really care much about such things anymore.

I also roll out of bed and go to the store without makeup.

Hi, you can read about my Quad helix installation and experience in my WWW (memory is fuzzy now, I HATED it when I got it in and wanted to die, but now I never notice it is there!) I am 29 years old and while my results are not dramatic, they didn't need to be and I have gotten the results my ortho ...

I think its normal. I usually have a ton of pressure which tapers off, and then pressure alternates as the wire does its job. By the time of my next adjustment, it has usually tapered off completely, and we start again with the pressure :D

I've been in braces for about 10 months and have only had 2 new wires - but it all depends on what part of the treatment your ortho is working on and what corrections you need. First we worked on gaps and expansion, and now we're working on tweaking a few teeth to where he wants them before we do th...

I was told to wear mine 24 hours a day unless eating or brushing (and if I felt like leaving them in to eat, it was up to me) and to change them every 4 hours or so. My first configuration was easy to eat with, the second and third(current) not so much, so I take them out. I moved quite far from my ...

I do pretty well eating sushi with braces - took a few tries but I can eat it like champ without getting any rice stuck. However, last time I went I had some Mochi ice cream for the first time since being braced and without thinking, I popped an entire ball in my mouth and it FUSED TO MY QUAD HELIX ...
