Update

Yay - a new update! So I have less than 2 weeks before my wedding, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my orthodontist!! First of all, he's got to be getting tired of me by now! I went in twice to get a new power chain because I kept accidentally staining mine. I tried to be good about coffee and s...

I've got Inovations, which are self-ligating. If I was going with all metal brackets, I don't think I'd notice a difference - however my top brackets are ceramic (Inovation C). I love that I don't have ligs to worry about staining (except now, with my powerchain).

I know I've posted this in the Metal Mouth Forum, but it's probably about time that I update my story as well. I'll start with the fun personal news - I'm getting married on December 16, on the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas!! We had originally planned to have the wedding later in the summer, o...

Thanks all! We're cruising on Royal Caribbean, on the Mariner ship. We already had the trip planned, just decided to make it into a marriage and honeymoon instead of just a vacation! I called this morning and they've got the first night available, as long as I book it in the next few days!

Temporary removal

I know I've seen some posts about this before, and I'm planning to talk to my ortho about it at my next appointment, but does anybody have much experience, especially concerning orthodontist opinion and pricing for temporary removal of braces? I was originally planning to get married over the summer...

I suppose it's time for an update. I've been MIA for a while due to classes, research, and just plain being busy. Anyway, I had my 2nd adjustment a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty uneventful, just got some new wires and more clips. I did get my ortho to assure me that my braces will be of...

Congratulations! I also recently got engaged, braces and all. We took a couple of pictures, but I'm definitely waiting until the braces come off for official ones! My braces should come off by June 08, and at the earliest we'll get married August 08. Congrats again, and enjoy it!

Thanks all! I admit I did pick out the ring back in December. Well, the setting at least. The center diamond was my mom's original diamond, before she got a new ring several years ago. It was the longest time ever waiting for him to finally propose, and I pretty much drove him crazy about it, but he...

I've been traveling and then super busy at work for the past few weeks, so I figured it was time for a quick update. My first month has flown by, but it's still a daily struggle to be happy about having my braces. I cannot wait until they are off! I took some 1 month pictures, so I'll post them (day...

I've had my In-Ovations since June 1, and I have been very pleased so far. I had metal braces for two years as a kid with a whole range of colored ligs, so I decided to go for discrete this time. Actually these were the only ceramics my ortho offered me, as my teeth are tiny and most ceramics are fa...

So it's been a couple of weeks now. I'm mostly used to them, not hurting much anymore except the pressing up against my cheeks when I sleep. I've had some strange movement though. In addition to the gap I posted about before, that one tooth seems to have been pulled down, and now it's much longer th...

Every morning after breakfast/getting ready for the day, every night before bed, and sometimes after lunch, depending on what I ate. I floss at least every other night, sometimes every night, again depending on what I ate.

I've got new braces with buildups as well. At first I thought it was going to be impossible, but it's definitely doable. I've just been taking small enough bites that I can use the one tooth on each side that does touch to chew with. It's annoying, and it takes a lot longer to eat, but it can be don...
