5.5 months post op

I had surgery August 6th so its been about 5.5 months. Everything seems to be healed up great by now. Few questions though, on average how long does it take for the bones to heal, after 5.5 months do you think my bones are pretty well healed? (for 19 year old male) also, and this probably is a reall...

So basically in months after after surgery how big of a role do the the braces play in the ...

braces and healing

Does anyone know if the braces play a role in the actual bones healing, or are they just for the purpose of straightening the teeth? Also, did you guys get the permanent retainer put in, and how successful is that in keeping the bottom teeth straight?

I really wanted to try scrambled eggs but I dont think I can get my mouth open far enough. Do you just scramble them then blend and add milk or something so its like liquid? What I did do though was buy pasteurized liquid egg whites and I have been adding that to almost everything I eat. I kind of h...

I had the exact same problem as you. Im 19 years old and just had the surgery about 3 weeks ago. I have been in braces twice before the surgery once when I was really young like elementary school, and the other time during junior high and freshman year high school. What I was told by my most recent ...

Re: post op

hang in there...the first week sucks! it will get better!!! are you able to open your mouth to eat, or are you banded heavily??? it all depends on how much you can open. I was allowed to take the rubberbands off to eat, even though it was a "liquid diet." This meant that I would eat whatever I coul...

Surgery in Summer

I had my consult with my surgeon and start braces this Thursday. Both surgeon and ortho say I will be able to get the surgery this summer because my teeth are pretty straight and my ortho thinks he will have them ready for surgery by then (I have had 2 phases of braces before). I forgot what surgery...
