Since I've been wired I also seem to notice people's teeth first, and mostly see adults who could use braces - maybe I've become a "tooth critic" I maybe see one other adult at the ortho office when I visit, but few out in the "real world".

Just do it! I went through the same process - even postponing the spacers in / brackets on appointments twice. I was incredibly nervous about taking that first step, but once they were on I actually felt relieved.

I had a number of friends who had braces in the 70's. It took the better part of a day to get them on, and they really compllained a lot after adjustments. They stayed in them for three years at least too. Definitely not the "good old days". I'm really glad I didn't get them back then. Won...

Yeah, I've become quite the "critic" since I got my braces on - always checking out everyones teeth. No matter how great the smile, seems I see lots of scrambled lower teeth.

I really didn't have any pain getting the molar bands on, but the assistant finding just the right size by pushing them part way on, and then popping off was not especially pleasant. I can't imagine having bands put on every tooth like they used to do, though! Do they still do that for any reason I ...

Thanks for posting! Definitely LOL funny. Whoever did these either had braces or knows someone very well who does. With the salad strip my reaction was "oh yeah, I've felt like that... more than once!"
