I used to have a gap in between my front teeth. Now I am using powerchains to finally close the gap, but it is causing the gum to swell. Is this normal?

I am in brackets and shaving is still a possiblity for me towards the end of treatment. I have had a bicuspid removed and the shaving will still need to be done. I think I would have preferred the shaving of a tooth over a complete extraction. If you are not comfortable with the plan of treatment, t...

I have been in elastics for 6 months now. I started with light elastics and I have been in 5/16 moose bands for about 4 months now. I used to take the bands out to eat and brush, but I kept forgetting to but them back in. I eat with the bands in ( not an easy task, but it does help ease the pain fro...

I am currently in "moose" elastics and have been using them everyday for almost 4 months. At first, I would take them off when I ate, but that got a little to hectic because I snacked alot between meals, so I would forget to put them back in. So my first adjustment after wearing the elasti...

I went with black powerchains and black ligs. I never tried the black on black version, but man does it make my teeth look pearly white :) I have clear uppers and metal lowers and typically I went with hot pink on both top and bottom, so this is a big change for me.... I think the next time, I am go...

Pain in Molars !!!

I am currently using Moose elastics. I have been wearing them for almost 3 months and have suddenly had pain in both sides of my mouth ( especially in the molars)

When I bite down, it is very painful. I am back at soft foods because it hurts to bite down. Is this normal with movement of the teeth?

No change in the social life. I am naturally extroverted anyway, so there was no way that it would change my outlook on life and meeting people. I speak alot in front of people, and I have had no negative responses to my brackets; if anything, I get a lot of referrals for my orthodontist. Some peopl...

Well my journey started March 07 with a free consultation with an orthodontist. No impression done just digital photos. Then in April I went back for molds and xrays. In the same month I had my consultation only to find out that I needed to have a bicuspid removed. I couldnt get brackets of spacers,...

agreed, the price that was quoted to you should be adjustments, supplies, appointments, intial retainer ( not any that you may loose) etc. Anything related to the orthodontic treatment. It does not include your routine dental cleanings or any other surgeries or treament in congunction with the overa...

I had 1 lower biscupid removed and it is not noticable. My ortho used tubing to keep the archwire from rubbing and to keep me from bending the wire out of place with my tounge. No one notice it but me. Your ortho my place a rubber tube on the archwire for comfort anyway.
