I had what I considered vampire teeth, but nothing like the photo example you sent. You can look here: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=24280 It takes a lot to require surgery. I have quite a substantial overbite (getting better) and I made one thing clear before the consultation star...

My ortho charges USD 4700 but prices vary wildly city to city and doctor to doctor. Most orthos will give you a free consultation (at least in the US - I know that in the UK most orthos will NOT give you a free consultation). At this consultation a preliminary treatment plan will be recommended and ...

Yay you! *Mark does a happy dance for Lips* - 1 year, I wish I was so lucky :) I'm coming up on a year and it still feels like I'm just getting started... Oh well, braces are fun so I'm not in any real hurry to get them off yet. I mostly just want them off before I leave here which might be coming s...

I think it can be fixed the same way, it just might take longer than mine took to fix. I had teeth where I had no idea where they'd go because it looked like there was no room but it all seems to work out in the end. If they're way way too crowded, there's a chance you might need to have extractions...

Mine weren't really bad but they've been pulled into line with the rest just with the archwire. I'm assuming he'll grind off part of the point when they get shaped at the end of treatment - at least I sure hope so!!!

Aww *huggles* it'll all be okay! I didn't have much pain after my banding, but it was a little. I did get a couple sores for a few days but wax does help. It gets better really quick and you actually get to where you like you braces and have some fun with them! You'll probably be there this time nex...

"Do you want me to feel bad that I had braces when I was "old"? Are you trying to discourage "old" people from posting on the board? " HECK NO!!!!! Go for it and make yourself look better and have fun with it! What I posted was in a different thread and someone took off...

I'm 23, having 16 and 17 and 18 year old friends doesn't seem that odd to me. Most of these guys have been my friends for quite some time too. When I was 18 graduating H.S. and they were 11-13ish, that was more noteworthy, but there's always been a bit of "big brother/little brotherishness"...

"But where do you get this "statistic" that the majority of adult ortho patients are in their 20s?" That's a guess. The 20% is a statistic. There is a difference. Either way, I get a little "wow, you're really old for braces" from my friends... It's just the way it is, ...

"The discomfort from cleats on molar bands is more than just pain - we're talking about an open wound in the mouth. If it is not necessary to continue to have the cleats, and if you're not adjusting to it, it is stupid to continue with the pain and the open wounds, since the latter factor means...

20% of patients start after 20 I believe (something around there). Hence, we're all OLD for braces. I think the majority of the rest of us (worldwide not on Archwired) are in our early 20's. So I stand by what I say - Archwired is a community of people really very old for braces - I'm old for braces...

My friend's dad, not my dad's friend. I forgot the name of the drug but he got totally addicted to it while on it. I also have a friend who basically went insane while on Accutane (if you haven't heard of it it's an acne drug that basically makes you go insane... suicide is actually a listed potenti...

Spacers are awful that's for sure... if you're getting your bottoms on later, one good thing - bottom spacers are better than tops!

You get used to everything, you really do. It actually feels kinda nice. No wonder so many people I know actually miss their braces when they get them off... I know I will. They're fun :)

And I'm sure you're giving me the same crazy look I gave my best friend right before I got my braces on...
