You should be just fine. I was debanded last week. No pain at all! The worst part was the drill noise and smell when the ortho ground off the glue.

Good luck!

I've had two MRIs while fully braced in metal braces, top and bottom. No problems at all, but both were lower MRI scans - leg and hip.

To be safe, call and ask.

After two years in braces, the ortho and I had a discussion at my last appointment. I'm going for as close to ideal as possible (which is not the same as perfect). At this point, another four weeks really isn't that long in the whole time frame. First of all, it took me 41 years to take the steps to...

I've been reassured (more than once) by my ortho that any small gaps can be closed with a retainer.

I had a new small gap at the last check, but since we are still tweaking the bite with elastics, he put a powerchain on until the next adjustment. The gap was gone in less than two days.

Oh, I share your pain (remember when I posted back in July?...my lower jaw slide back so no debanding for me :-(( and you were so kind to reply to just hang in there :) )...it's okay to cry, stomp your feet, and then realize it will be just a little while longer! Really, it's a set back, but not for...

Gracie, I was braced at 41. I think we all have the same doubts, and all I can do is tell you...for me, it really hasn't been that bad. I can tell you right now, I'd do this all over again...time really does go by quickly. Like KK, I really haven't changed what I eat at all...you'll learn to cut up ...

I've been in various elastic configurations for the past year. It is exciting to see the progress, and it's great when it happens quickly. I too have had to take Advil with new confirgurations, and the soreness has often lasted four or five days. :soremouth: NotBob1 , after a couple of days, you'll ...

I had zig zags for about six weeks. That configuration is used to close the bite down. Unfortunately, due to some slide, I'm back in front to back elastics. Out of all the configs, zig zag was the most painful. I was sore four or five days. But just like anything...it will get better! Warm salt wate...

Since you opened this up to all... I work for an advertising agency...so I present a lot and met with a lot of different people - basically every day...plus I talk on the phone tons. I chose full metal braces so when I open my mouth there's no guessing..."is she lisping or wearing braces?"...

strugglebuggy that's exactly my problem...even checking photos I can see very little, if any, change.

I'd really like to be able to eat an apple or snack on baby carrots dipped in ranch dressing...or popcorn.

So yes, I'm tired too right now! sigh.

Oh I feel your pain and share your frustration! :-+ My debanding appointment was on 7/12...but I'm still full metal mouth! You're right...you haven't gone through this to end with less than the best possible results! Just keep smiling and brushing and flossing. I try to tell myself that no one have ...
