I'm nearing the point in my orthodontic journey (and it has been great so far, thanks for all the support, guys!) where I get to think about rubber bands. I've heard some good things (like they shorten your imprisonment by at least a month if you wear them like you're supposed to) and some bad thing...

Same here! I don't know if it's the flourescent lighting or something, but they look all pearly white! I'm actually a bit afraid to get the braces taken off--I don't watch those yucky spots on my teeth!

I'm a bad, bad boy and don't floss as much as I should. I hope it doesn't affect me much, but it literally pains my arms to floss. xD

But I also watch TV while I brush. xD Or sometimes, if I'm listening to music, I'll brush with the tempo of the song.

I had the great luck of getting my braces on right after the midterm, so I had an entire Christmas break to get used to them. The first day we got back, I was so comfortbale with the braces, and nothing felt awkward. Sure, people looked at me strangely for a moment and said: "Wait...did you get...

I figure it's mind-numbingly easy to brush and floss after having brackets and wires and all kinds of good stuff! ^_^

Has anyone else realized, after having brace on, how easy brushing your teeth used to be? I remember complaining about how much time I didn't have to brush my teeth, but getting braces has really woken me up. I know that after I get my braces off (which won't be long...wow, it's already been a year?...

Hm...I don't think I was depressed about my teeth, but I was like, "Last time I'll eat this...and drink this..."
Haha, and I took a picture of my teeth before and after the braces. I'm just starting my journey into braces, and I think it's totally worth it. ^^

Very happy to report that ALL of the initial pain is gone from my teeth. ^_^ I can chew almost normally now (still getting used to the cement...though it's forming into a more useful shape), and I can close my mouth and clench without any pain at all! Well, I guess I shouldn't say that all of it is...

I'm getting used to the cement--but my orthodontist said that it would wear off, or that he would take it off. Although, you're telling me completely different things. o.O
