Congrats! You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll become adjusted!
Remember, as many have stated, chewing does help the tenderness go away quicker (well, in my experience). As far as the rough cheeks, etc, WAX it up!

I had an impacted canine. My estimated treatment time was 24-30 and it's ending up to be about 27 (three more days!!!) My page posts a little more information about my experience. In short, the tooth never came down, the baby was still there. I had an exposure, which was successful. Having the impac...

I have ceramic brackets on the social six. I believe they are Clarity brackets. I did not have an extra cost because of them. (Any more might have been extra, but I'm not positive.) I don't believe I was ever told treatment would be more/less. At one of the consultations I remember being very surpri...

That's my worry now. It's hard to believe that I could have forgotten about all the issues that were going on when I first started treatment. Now that those are out of the way, I am noticing the small things. Given the shape of my teeth beforehand, I don't know if I will see the exact results I had ...

I know what you mean about it feeling like an eternity. If it weren't for my canine, I'd have a much shorter timeframe. I went through the whole upset-with-the-major-gap issue, too; however, believe it or not, most of the time I forgot it was there. It wasn't until I took a picture and remembered it.

I had my exposure in the middle of July 2007. It is almost completely visible, but not yet attached to the archwire. Hopefully at my next adjustment it will get to join the rest. My tooth, apparently, was on its side and pretty high up. I don't know if that contributed much to the time it took. It s...

I am excited for your new pics. When I first looked at your page, I thought to myself that your upper arch was similar to my bottom one--only with the adult teeth erupting behind the baby ones. My are bracketed, but not yet in the archwire. Your teeth and upper arch, I'm sure, are looking great. Can...
