Thanks Linda. I plan to see a periodontist. That was the original plan, once treatment is over and they will do the gum lift (if need be).

dry + paste + brush + wash

interesting topic and good feedback. washing the brush to remove any dust before it goes in the mouth makes sense.

i will wet my brush first in the future.

gums: to move or remove?

A year has already gone by, and I seem to be in the final stages of the treatment. Few more months to go. Since I am thinking of the end, I wonder if a gummy smile can be corrected with braces alone. I was planning on having some of the excess gum tissue removed after my ortho treatment is finished,...

I have developed a habit of looking at people's teeth. And yes, I have noticed more people with braces. Mostly teens seem to have braces, but I have also seen lots of adults with braces. And two of my friends also got braces just recently. Just this weekend I was having lunch at a local restaurant a...

An environmentalist in me is dying to ask: Has anyone found a good use for these elastics besides their intended orthodontic purpose?

I change my elastics 2-3 times per day. When I put the fresh elastics, I wonder if the previously used elastics can be recycled or reused for anything else.

I am wearing class II elastics. There is a picture of a Panda on the package. The ortho, affectionately, calls them Pandas.

According to the ortho assistant, they have a whole ZOO of elastics.

Anyone else wearing "animals"?
