I got bonded wire retainers top and bottom. The bottom ones are permanent, but the top ones will come off after a year, which for me is Sept. To be honest, the top wire has been a pain from day one. My former overbite is now gone, and the top teeth are very close to the bottom teeth when my mouth is...

Sorry, I can't comment on the deep bite question, but I can comment from my own personal experience on "making the bite worse". I found that during my treatment, my bite really shifted around all over the show. Hardly surprising really when your teeth are in the process of being reposition...

Well, it's been a LONG time since I posted here, but here I am ... still wearing my invisaligns!!! I got to the end of my initial 21 trays, I think it was in July last year. At the end of that, the ortho was satisfied with my lowers, but the uppers still needed refinement. I got new moulds taken, an...

I reached the end of my initial trays (21 of them) about 2 weeks ago, and am making use of the 3 "free" extra trays to make some minor adjustments. The results so far have been amazing, and the process just awesome!! The extra 3 trays should be arriving any day now, and so in about 6 weeks...

I know, I know ... I've been invisible for weeks!!! Life has been kind of getting in the way lately ... work, guests (the hard work type!!), family, etc.... you know the stuff I mean. No personal time anymore!! Sigh. At least my teeth are coming on nicely. Went to see the ortho again today, and have...

Great to hear your tongue is settling down .. and yes, a lot of talking with a new tray at the beginning of treatment will do that to you!! As for salt water... no, I had the trays out while rinsing. Wow, if you're only taking your trays out twice a day, you must be starving!!! Mine are in and out q...

I am on tray 13 out of 21. At the beginning, I drank at least one cup of coffee a day with the trays in, and although there was no real visible stains immediately, when I went for my regular teeth cleaning at about tray 9, I could see some marks on my teeth and my dentist commented that they were st...

Hi Nanny, I use about a teaspoon at most, and dissolve in about 1/2 a glass warm water. Gargle with it and swish it around in your mouth a few times a day. If you look around this forum (other threads though) look for kk, as she is the expert on salt water rinses!!!! And yes, the pain on taking the ...

Hi Inkogal, Watchout for things like coffee and gatorade .. your trays will be fine, but not your teeth in the end!! I frequently drink coffee with my trays in (once a day), and at the beginning, I would not think it necessary to at least rinse out my mouth afterwards. But I got rapidly stained teet...

Hi Nanny, I agree, get that file out a.s.a.p. and create some relief. Give yourself about 2 to 3 days, and your tongue will have healed and adjusted. Your next tray may bother your tongue once again .. file that one where necessary too. After about the 3rd tray, your tongue will probably be totally ...

Actually my friends arranged a big surprise birthday party, and parents and one of my brothers flew in from the UK (they were coming for xmas anyway, but just came earlier by a few days). Everyone kept the secret tight, but m...
