I guess Ive gotten lucky in that department then. I've always gotten new wires. I have no idea if they were different sizes though. My ortho doesn't communicate that much.

Question about debanding

I got final wires put in at my last appointment and they also gave me elastics to bring my molars together. Does this mean that if all looks good, I should get a deband date on Monday at my appointment? I wasn't sure how long they keep you in final wires.

I would say several weeks also. It took about 4 before my top teeth stopped hitting my bottom brackets.

I was trying to find pics of my mouth pre-braces and pre-surgery. The best I could come up with was these two:

I hope that helps. Those were from 2003.

I have elastics too and this has been the worst post-adjustment pain I've yet to endure. I didn't think I would even get elastics, but here I am in my finishing wire with a box pattern on each side to bring my molars together when I bite down. I was told if I didn't wear them properly and I went in ...

I was told it can grow back if not done correctly. The total cost out of pocket was $230. Part of it was covered by insurance. Without insurance, it would have been $550 since I had nitrous. Prices vary with provider, but my perio was recommended by my ortho.

Mine haven't grown over my brackets, but I do notice they are covering more of the tooth than they were when I didn't have braces. When I saw the perio, he says this is normal and swelling should go down 6-9 months after the braces are removed. You may need gum contouring if it's getting that bad, t...

I'm probably going to get metallic green for St. Patty's day next month. I have pink for Valentine's Day right now. I will be getting my final wire, hopefully, next Monday.

Frenectomy

I am posting about my frenectomy, as promised in a previous thread. I went to my consult on Tuesday with the perio and was honestly expecting a VERY long wait in between the consult and surgery date. When I spoke with the receptionist, I told her I was looking to get it over with ASAP since I was wa...

I had the same situation too I had been looking for posts about frenetomies, but alas I found none. I had my frenectomy done by an E.N.T. There wasn't a laser involved, but there was a numbing injection to my top lip and a scalpel. It was painful but worth it. I had stitches put it, and then fell o...

Almost done! (Frenectomy Questions too)

I've been lurking a while and not had much time to post. My goodness, I can't believe how fast the time has flown by since B Day. I have tried searching for frenectomy, but there only seems to be two posts related to it. I have a consultation on the 5th with the perio to have my frenectomy done. I j...
