When my braces journey started I talked to my ortho about having lingual braces because I couldn't stand the thought of having braces on my front teeth. He said he could do the lingual but then right before surgery he would HAVE TO sw...

I suffered from headaches and neckaches all the time before jaw surgery, it had to do with the position of my jaw and grinding my teeth.

I had an open bite and had upper and lower surgery. Before the surgery, my lower jaw was set back, so my lips didn't sit on eachothe properly. I was always trying to bring my lower jaw forward, so they would meet together. This made the muscles in my face really tired and start to hurt. Now, after t...

I had both upper and lower jaw surgery 7 weeks ago. It really wasn't bad. I broke out in a rash because of the medicine, and I was more focused on that then my face. It is just discomfort because you are so swollen in the beginning. I was on a liquid diet for 5 weeks. I had rubber bands on me for 5 ...

Anonybrit- I also had pretty perfect teeth before I even considered surgery an option. I went to the orthodontist this past August and he said it would probably take five months in braces before surgery to get my teeth straight. Well, my teeth moved fast and my surgeon took molds and my teeth were r...

I had both upper and lower jaw surgery 5 weeks ago. I originally thought my mom would stay home from work with me for the whole 5 weeks, due to the fact that my mouth would be rubber banded shut. I would say at two weeks I was completely fine on my own. I got used to using the syringe and felt comfo...
