Hi Sherwood Forest I had an openbite at the start of my treatment, it is still ever so slightly open. I had my brace removed, top in June 08 bottom in Sept 08. I am now in Essex retainers and so far so good, no opening up of my bite. The openbite was corrected with elastics and, touch wood, is behav...

Hi Lisa I've had similar comments and one such comment from a woman the same age as me (43) but most people have said that they'd love to do something about their crooked teeth but aren't "brave" enough to wear a brace. I really think they must be very insecure if they think wearing a brac...

I'm in my 40s and I had a 12mm overjet that was reduced via 2 extractions and can only say that it worked for me, I am delighted with the results. Extractions aren't for everybody but for some they work. I also had a really messed up bite with an openbite but never had any problems eating. Human bei...

Hi Flaka Don't worry, I had a similar thing happen to me early in my treatment, it looked like my bottom teeth were "going downhill". I have to admit I was a bit worried by it but it has all been sorted out and my teeth fit nicely together now. I started with an openbite but was amazed how...

Hi roost22 I know it didn't work out for Mike but it has worked out for me. I had one upper removed as a teenager. Recently I had the matching upper premolar removed and one lower premolar removed so you would be in the same position as me. It probably depends on jaw size and I am very petite. Howev...

I know it's not easy but the answer is Patience. At one stage my lower teeth looked like this \, literally like they were sloping downwards but they sorted themselves out in the end.

You both have lovely teeth already and you'll get there. It's frustrating but it just takes time.

I, like Meryaten, think that people should use wax as much as necessary. Why suffer, that's just silly. I used wax in different spots sporadically quite a lot and it really helped. Your mouth will tell you when you don't need the wax. It is a hassle taking wax out to eat or sometimes swallowing it i...

Congratulations Florencegal, we're both getting there. I'm hoping that my bottom brace will come off maybe August or more realistically September (that final gap I have is closing but it is so slow). It would be nice if you get a cancellation. I know that feeling of wanting to be free for a special ...

Thanks for the compliments. I actually feel I should have waited until after my cleaning to post a pic but I was excited. The black triangle was mostly tobacco staining (shame on me) and has now more or less disappeared since I had my cleaning. Still enjoying being topless and getting used to not ha...

Thanks Sara, having a brace definitely tests your patience. I am an impatient person too but some things you just can't hurry. Braces certainly do work though but sometimes it seems like nothing is happening, other times there is very quick movement. It is definitely worth it, hang in there, before ...

Thanks Ken, Lisa, Tin Indian, Meryaten, and Miss Smiley.

Florencegal, hope your turn comes soon. Not sure how much longer with the bottom, another few months I think as the gap still needs a bit more closing.
