I'm still out here! I'm right at two years in now and still in braces. Things are going ok. Progress has slowed down but everything is in the right place. I just went into my first upper power-bands, although only on the four front teeth. Also just got my first rubber bands connecting uppers to lowe...

I haven't been around much lately but I'm still out here. Thought I'd share a photo of my last free tooth. It's putting up a fight but in 19 days it shall be enslaved to the archwire like all the others. As you can see, I've had significant movement to make room for it. All this movement from one li...

It seems to me that some Otho's (especially older ones) will do the standard 4 extractions in every case. The younger Otho's tend to avoid pulling teeth if at all possible. I had 4 consults, 1 wanted 4 teeth, 1 wanted 2 and 2 wanted none. Both of the two that wanted to pull none said there could be ...

Updated top post with details of my 4th adjustment. Still very pleased with the movement, although I know I'm about to get into the subtle movement phase with all the rubberbands and such. Sometimes I still can't believe I'm in braces, or that my teeth could possibly look this normal after 35 years ...

I have pretty much the same thing you have... except I'm missing both molars on the bottom on each side. I still have my wisdom teeth however. It depends on the ortho as to how things will be handled. I talked with four and only one wanted to remove any more teeth on the bottom. All of the others wa...

35 here and very similar experieces to the others with random pain. Just this morning I was griping about the various teeth that hurt - and they were in no particular order. In my case the good news is that along with the pain has been a ton of movement. Right now I'm ok but for dinner I had hotdogs...

Wow Mmmmuuaa... Looking amazing! That midline situation is exactly the same as mine. The bottom teeth all lined up into a nice arch very quickly (and somewhat painfully!) but they did so about 1/2 a tooth off from the ideal postion. Anyway those ortho's will sort it out for you. Keep up the good wor...

Thanks everyone... good to see that my original support crew found this post! I went in for the adjustment Monday... they fully engaged all brackets to the top wire. I thought they were gonna snap my top front teeth out of my head when they started cranking down! I've had some soreness but ove...

Four here and I'm glad I did. Between the first three, I had picked two but there were issues of concern with both. Hated to take more time from busy professionals but decided it would be worth giving the 4th and final a chance. Once I got past the waiting room I knew where I needed to be. Making gr...

I should have made it last week but was in a hurry because of a job that day. It was the first adjustment and I just didn't think about it until the next day. They did the adjust and said see ya! LOL Anyway, I'd rather have a little closer following in this first few months.. still, you've seen a mi...

next adjustment - Jan 29???
Maybe I'm just too demanding, but I was trying to schedule my second adjustment and was told there are no appointments open for the next ELEVEN weeks!? And its been a week since my last adjustment. The Dr said he wanted to see me in six weeks. I knew the adjustments would go to eight weeks eventuall...

Uneventful adjustment.. Dr looked and said wow great progress, everything is doing what it should. They put on a new 'tie back' on the upper right molars which was pretty tight for about 20 mins. Don't feel a thing now. Thankfully they didn't touch my bottom wire since my lower front teeth are not h...

Snaggletooth's story... just got 4th adjustment
June 11, 2007 - Fourth adjustment today. I got another new upper wire and this time a new lower wire. Both larger than before. Also they placed a button on that last tooth on the bottom and tied it to the wire using elastic thread. Man did that ever put some pressure on things. At least my lower arc...
