I went with all metal. At my age, 55 when put on, I just didn't care about the looks.
Plus I have several crowns and was also told the metal generally hold up better.

No I did not pay any extra. Good lord, for the price we pay, there should be no extras!
My ortho has actually done mine a couple of times during treatment as the teeth have
moved. I think our expectations should be high unless we've been told otherwise.

I believe it's been said before but don't sweat what people think. Most adults may look but won't
say anything. I was 55 when I had mine put on and went with all metal and even ended up doing
colored elastics. I deal with the public all day long. Very few comments!

Sorry for the slow reply. I don't know exactly how far off it was in mm, but about an eighth of an inch? Started the cross elastic in late July. May not have been completely faithful to 24/7 wear! Welcome to the club. I thought I was pushing the age at nearly 57. Was hoping
to have mine off before that birthday next month, but next appt. not till January 5.
That will put me at 25 months and debanding not mentioned yet.
